There was no "outplaying" by either team in that game. There was only a winner, and a loser.

I do not remember a game like that one such that literally every yard on the field was contested.

When you watch a game, and a 4 yard toss dive yields four yards, and you get fired up over it, you know you're watching big time football.

Without rewatching the game, it seems that Bama moved the ball better but bogged down around the 30 yard line. LSU had a couple of nice drives, particularly to end the 1st half. Had LSU gotten into the field position that Bama did, LSU would have won by 9-12 points, because I don't think Allemon misses those FGs.

As far as coaching, Miles had the upper-hand over Saban. No way anyone can really believe that Miles was outcoached.

I thank you all for verifying that my friends are morons, who are just Anti-Miles.

9-6 is not nearly as telling since all we needed was the field goal to win. If we wanted to score a TD we could have but why risk fumbling when your kicker is red hot.

We did score the TD it's just that in his excitement running into the endzone virtually untouched Ford forgot to look down to see where he was.

Stats, moving the ball and the all the rest of the coulda-woulda-shoulda shite is irrelevant, and repeated by losing coaching staffs and fans every week.

To make or stop the plays resulting in a W is all there is to it.

You can't say you outplayed anyone if you lose, unless refs take it from you.

Honest coaches and players repeat after every loss "We didn't make the plays to win the game."

I'm not sure if there's anything left to explain.

I think they moved the ball better on us then we did on them... now did they score...no....but tr was able to break a few.... had he not gotten beat down and hit as hard he might have played more.... but that's part of the game...garuntee he plays more this time around...plus they had "missed" opportunities... we took advantage of mistakes....which is also part of the game....the question is which happens more..mistake (that we can see) or missed opportunities. I think that's why most people say they "outplayed" us...we make more unconvential plays.... they play "technically sound" football... both teams are a product of their leader to say the least.

Wait, are you saying a TD in overtime when the other team failed to score is better than a field goal? The score was telling.

we outrushed them 150 to 100.

we also beat them in 'scoreboard'

not only that, they were gassed in overtime. our defense is so deep that we were not phased by trent richardson in OT, which is where he should have thrived.

by they way, they were outcoached

There is only one stat that counts and that is the final score. The rest is just so much garbage for numbers nerds.

I have not heard that too much.... but people who still choose to hang on to thier ill conceived thoughts/opinions even when there is evidence that proves otherwise, are just being stubborn and stupid..... they dont want to admit they were wrong, they are not true fans at all... IMO

I re-watched this game last Friday and the only thing I can think of is that Bama had a longer field in which to drive from because Nick left LSU in great field position when trying for missed field goals! He should have punted!

Miles made Saban his bitch. He played the whole game conservatively, while making Saban think that he had to take risks to beat Miles.

this. Many of Saban decisions in the first game reeked of him believing that Bama would not be able to put up points against us.

More of the same on the 9th!

Arkansas outplayed LSU for 18 minutes.
UGA outplayed LSU for 24 minutes
Bama outplayed LSU for 26 minutes

Unfortunately for these teams, football is a 60 minute game.

My signature is a worth response to your friends.

LSU made some monsterious plays in the game, blocked a field goal, kept the Tide O out of the redzone all game, and game saving goal line interception. LSU's offense was somewhat stagnant, especially in the passing area, but they did do some things well (ie the JJ/Shepard play).

Your "friends" are either not very good at analyzing a football game, or they just wanna hate.

If you have friends that say that you should just consider them to be jackasses who don't know what they are talking about.

And FTR "we outplayed yall" is a cry losers use. I guess it is suppose to make them feel better but it makes me laugh....basically they are saying we played better than yall and still couldn't win

I felt like we got outplayed until the 4th quarter. I'm a huge fan of Les Miles and think Saban did one of his worst jobs ever during the game.

From the moment they went up 3-0 (about 4 min left in the first half), LSU dominated the game. Richardson had 31 yds rushing from that point on and the Bama offense had something like 110 yds of total offense. If memory serves me, in that same time frame, LSU ran 51 plays to Bamas 36.
