but I do dislike storming the field against a 1-loss Ole Miss in Week 6. Is LSU the only team to storm the field after beating Ole Miss in recent years
I personally really hate this take. The name on the helmet is not of consequence. They were the #7 team in the nation.

Now if you have an issue with it being the #7 team in the nation then that's perfectly fine.

But this Ole Miss team, THIS Ole Miss team put a lot of money into NIL and was considered a title contender.

LSU was a part of putting that to rest.

LSU was #10.

It wasn't like this was some "David v. Goliath" upset. You can't throughout the week act like LSU should win the game because they, historically, "own" Ole Miss...then rush the field because you beat a team ranked 3 spots ahead of you.

If you want to storm the field simply because it is fun and it was a great ending to a high stress game. Have at it. But don't try to justify it by saying "they were the #7 team in the nation"...when you were ALSO a top 10 team.

In Saturdays case at Tiger Stadium the fans stormed the field because they understood they literally helped win that game.
Same after 2014 OM game when crowd rushed and sent Quinn surfing.

I hate taking money out of our pocket and giving it to a rival. In today's NIL world, it matters more than ever before.

Ole Miss stormed the field in 2023 and paid the fine to LSU. LSU stormed the field this year and paid the fine to Ole Miss

The fine money just goes back and forth

It doesn't matter at all

So us having less money doesn't matter? OK, then.

Because joyless fricks are always the loudest. They cry "Foul!" because they need attention. You can find hundreds of examples every Saturday on the Score Board.

Maybe they were #10 in another poll. But I digress.

Really what I'm getting at though is it doesn't matter that it was Ole Miss. Which is what a lot of people are putting energy into.

What you have to understand that’s gonna be a tough pill for some on here to swallow is that there are a lot of miserable bitter loser men among the Boomers and Xers. They’re literally upset that other people are having fun. They suck. That’s all there is to it.

Ole Miss paid the fine to the SEC last year not LSU. The rule changed this year so fines are now paid directly to the other school.

I kind of does if fans are going to walk around with an air of superiority towards Ole Miss. It's an odd juxtaposition to, on the one hand, believe that program is "beneath you". Then on the other hand rush the field because of a "monumental achievement" (of beating a program you're better than).

Been going to LSU games since 1977. Went to LSU from 1981-1987. I think the only time I ever stormed the field was in 1997 when we upset #1 Florida and we had been a losing program for a while before then. Do not see any reason to storm the field after beating Ole Miss at home which we have done a lot over the last decade. I believe 8 in a row? So I maybe an old timer now but i would leave storming the field for huge upsets over other championship programs, like bama in 2022, or other championship games. Not Ole Miss.

We didn’t storm the field. We’re not use to still being there at the end of the 4th quarter and didn’t know how to get out

I get the frustration. Storming the field against some poverty football program like ole miss is insane.

I also know someone who helps manage the turf at the field. Imagine someone destroying something at your work and you have to restart the entire operation. Budget, labor, materials, the whole 9 yards... Pain in the arse
