LSU men’s hoops didn’t play Missouri in the SEC (which worked well for us I guess?), and it seems odd for us not to play all SEC teams in the regular season.

Is this a covid effect of some sorts?
I’ll hang up and listen. Geaux Tigers!

And why do you think this?

Mizzou, regardless of their loss tonight, is still a solid NET team thanks to their OOC wins in addition to beating Bama, Ark, and TN in conference. With LSU supposed to have played them at their place, that would have been a solid Q1 game and good resume booster if LSU won.

We're short a home game, so I would expect Florida to come into BR on that last weekend.

Mizzou without Tilmon is one thing...with him is quite another. I’m still not convinced we are equipped to stop a legitimate post scorer.

Absolutely. Mike White owns Will Wade.

You keep stating this false narrative.

Feel free to show me evidence against it. From my recollection, Wade has really, really struggle vs White.

Year 1: Florida has a preseason top 10 team. Wade has a 2-16 squad. Florida wins by 9.

Year 2 and 3: they split head to head

Year 4: Florida won. Game 2 pending.

They’re always a tough matchup. Hardly call that owning.

Florida has won 7 of the last 10. I don't have power so pages are loading slowly on my phone. That's really all I could come up with. I tried to find the series history, but didn't see it.

Mike White was hired in 2015 and Wade was hired in 2017. That means they've played each other 8 times in the regular season and once I know of for sure in the SECT so that's 9 times there. Even if White won 6 of 9, that's pretty much owning to me.

Eta: You're correct that they only played 8 times because we haven't played them twice this year yet. Wade lost to White in the SECT is a game that you're missing.

No he didn’t. Benford did. And we only played Florida once in Wade’s first year. They’ve faced off 6 times. I just gave you the stats

Yeah that's true. Benford was the coach for that one.

You're forgetting that Florida beat LSU in the SECT in 18-19. So Wade's overall record vs. White (at Florida) is 2-5. Whether one considers that to be "owning" or not is subjective.

Outside of Kentucky, Florida has really been the one school in the SEC LSU hasn't been able to beat soundly at least once in any of the games coached by Wade. That includes the 18-19 season where Florida had some big depth problems brought about by injury and LSU seemed to be a clear favorite in at least 2, but maybe all three games. And it is a bit surprising considering Florida has been relatively inconsistent (though not bad) under White.

Now, 5 of those 7 games have either been in Gainesville or a neutral site (SECT). I suspect that may have something to do with it as well. Either way, LSU seems to bring out the best in Florida...or not quite the best in LSU.

You’re forgetting that Tony Benford was coaching that game.

Yeah that's true.

And I had already corrected you on all this yesterday when you said it in the other thread.

The whole “White owns Wade” is a false narrative based more in perception than reality. Unfortunately you aren’t the only one that seems to think it.
