re: Why didn't Jordan Jefferson play earlier in the season?

les prefers veteranship over talent. the fact that "no arm" hatch was originally the starter to begin the year supports this claim
and the fact that patrick peterson has won a starting job as a true freshman over players ahead of him with more epxerience and less talent debunks that myth
yes, the position of qb is different. but miles willplay, and start a true freshman/younger players when it is evident to him that he is the better option

with jefferson there would have been no need for a 2 QB system either and no distractions.
how in holy hell do you think you have enough info to make that assumption?

well lee has regressed so far...
agreed 100%, BUT JJ has not gotten to that point in his career yet and not had to deal with the things (pressure & criticism) that Lee has
JJ's pthas largely been irrelevant
i mean, we lost the two games he has played significantly in and we still will probably end up going to at least the peach bowl

i agree with playing them both...but i think JJ should start
6 one way, half a dozen the other
i think they would both benefit from time off on the sidelines and the whole bringing JJ in on running plays, but then passing and bringing lee in on passing plays and running thing could work out nice

JJ would probably get the start assuming Lee's injury will limit him during the initial bowl practices. JJ would be a better change of pace QB though...bringing Lee in doesn't really cause the defense to worry about the threat of the run. Ideally, Lee starting with JJ coming in makes more sense.
Given we aren't really playing for a whole lot except experience, I might go with a rotation the first half (say 2 series each)...then play the second half based on the game situation.

The very fact that Lee's critics bring up the improved run game when he's at QB, shows you that even weak defenses (Ole Miss, Ark) can focus on the run when JJ is in, and use that knowledge to beat us.
Lee forces the D to play honest. JJ does not, they anticipate the run, and the stats bear that out.
No way in hell does JJ take Bama into OT, or beat Troy!!!
Lee should start the bowl game (if healthy) with JJ coming in to confuse the defense.
Having JJ in worked early against Ole Miss & Ark. With no Lee to offset, we were easily outmanuevered.

I wouldn't call putting eight guys in the box and forcing LSU to throw the ball keeping the defense honest.

didn't Lee throw a pick 6 in that game?

dude, JJ lead the team to 30 FREAKING POINTS.
what about that do you not get?
Does he play defense?
NO
so you can't put that loss on his shoulders.

we lost by 1 point and had 36 yards in the 2nd half against the worst DEF in the SEC and 81st best DEF in the nation
that is cool with you?

Against one of the 2 worst defenses in the SEC.
If you are really hanging your entire hat on this, then there really is not much that can be said.

Nah, we prob win in regulation.

the playcalling wasn't fine by me at all.
what has lee done this year that makes you want to start him over jefferson?

9 pass
8 runs
we started 3 drives in ARK territory in the 2nd half and couldnt even get a FG, which would have been the difference in the game.

won football games, for starters.
showed enough moxy to come back and win football games.
complete over 50% of his passes
statistically he has only had 3 really shitty games.
in the big picture, that is great for a FR QB.

George's "ATHLETICISM" didn't override the fact that he didn't know the playbook very well. Our offense would have been about as complex as the one at Bunkie Junior High. By the end of the season, he had picked up enough to play, but with P6 and Ivy League injured there weren't many options left. Everybody better hope that he picks up enough of Crowton's system in the Spring so that we don't have to "Dumb Down" the offense when he's in the game.
I'm not real impressed with Crowtons "Teaching" as exemplified by Jarrett Lee's inability to "Get It" the entire season.(Do I need go into detail) Don't know how good he's going to be at developing young QB's..........

Pick 6s are more about the desire of the entire offense. The player from Bama went 52 yds through 11 Tigers, almost untouched.
I watched Hester chase a man down from behind last yr to stop a score.
Face it, our team on both sides of the ball quit, so pick 6s are more on the team than the QB.

you put every pick 6 on lee's shoulders even thought there are 10 other people on thefield who can tackle him
why is what is good for the goose not good for the gander?

the over criticism of lee, and the lack of criticism of JJ is insane

maybe they quit because he kept throwing picks?

maybe the defense quit in the 2nd half against arkansas b/e their quarterback couldn't lead the offense for more than half of a football field
ETA- why is everything good that happened when Lee was under center in spite of him and everythnig bad was his fault, while everything bad that happened while JJ was under center someone elses fault?

Colt McCot threw 18 picks. I didn't see his team quit on him????
