You couldn't be more wrong I'm happy coach O got the job but you have to admit things are getting strained no OC arranda hasn't signed and now Brennan has pulled out. This is not good keep blowing roses out of your arse if you want but this is bad news. And crowning Tua just because he wants to come to LSU is so Nieve just like ppl thought franks was the second coming and that guy might never play a down in college football. Reality isn't the same as shitting on something some fans need to learn that.

Do you have a clue? No. Did you watch the elite 11? No. Typical rantard talking about things you know nothing about and your entire knowledge comes from press clippings.

Doesn't it seem obvious that Lane Kiffen is coming.

Yesterday, we offer a Bama commitment from Hawaii who is recruited by Kiffen at Bama.

We send three coaches to visit Lowell Narcise

Today, pro style Myles Brennas decommits.

EXACTLY

Kiffen's Bama contract expires in January. His relationship with Saban is over. He and O have been unofficially talking since Kiffen is still legally under contract (remember Chief)! His offense requires a dual threat QB, and he wants his Hawaii recruit to follow him!

Neither O nor Kiffen are dumb enough to put all their eggs in one basket, so 3 LSU coaches revisit our dual threat QB commit from St. James.

Only a HC offer from a good school will stop Kiffen from coming here, but I would argue that our recruitment of the Hawaii kid indicates that Kiffen thinks he's coming here!

Brennas is a smart kid who wants to be drafted in the first round, and sitting behind a dual threat QB will not work for him. He hasn't ruled LSU out, but he smartly reopened his options.

If our new OC is not Kiffen but a pro style coach we would have to recommit him before signing day.

He doesn't know what he wants because he doesn't have a plan, binder notwithstanding. He just says what he feels he has to say in the moment to garner favor with the masses.

I remember O saying that too.

Also, with Hurts having a great year as a Freshman, that QB might have to sit behind him for at least 2, maybe 3 years. Where at LSU, he may get to play quicker

Wasn't the Pro-style QB comment before the Alabama game?

Maybe he saw without a doubt that to beat that Bama team, we NEED a running QB.

Here is the exact quote from the Oct 12 radio show. I think anyone can tell he's talking about recruiting after he gets the permanent job.

Tell me the significant difference in my paraphrase and what he actually said.

Take all the time you need.

I'll wait.

quote:

quote: “I want a pro-style quarterback,” Orgeron said. “Louisiana has been rich in quarterbacks and pro-style quarterbacks. … We’re going to go anywhere in the country that we need to get them, but we’re going to look at Louisiana first.”

Yes he is. He is the best DT Quarterback recruit in the country according to the ESPN 300.

When he made the pro style QB comment he knew 3 things:
He wanted to be HC.
He had a very good pro style commit
He had to keep all options open.

No one knows how O will do. Best or worse, let's take the ride without all the backseat bitching.

It's all good, man.

I'm not pushing for one or the other--I'd like to see a basic pro-style offense with spread elements and once Miles was out of the picture, we showed our offense could be productive.

And I thought Kiffin ran a pro-style similar to Jimbo.

My main worry is the contradiction means O is just saying what he thinks the public wants to hear.

And I'm worried that fat-frick radio hack propaganda minister has his fingers in the pie to the extent that the entire Rant would be horrified if they knew the details.

Made statements about west-coast / pro-style while he was interim. Certainly plausible after Miles' offense stagnated that decision makers told O he needs to run spread to get the job. Viola, we are now running the spread and crootin' "dual-threat" QBs to run it.

when did he say this

On the radio:

To be precise, coach O took the radio waves to say: “I want a pro-style quarterback. Louisiana has been rich in quarterbacks and pro-style quarterbacks.”

That is extremely short sighted. Why don't we worry about smashing everyone else on our schedule before we throw everything out over one game.

Fournette was hurt in the Alabama game and only had moments of looking good. Playing Guice instead we score a few times. Throwing the ball in the red zone and we score more. There were a number of things that we could have done in that game that did not include using a QB to run the ball.

After he stated that he wanted a pro style QB Narcisse began to look elsewhere. He visited Memphis and scheduled a return trip to Auburn. O crawfished and then made the announcement that he wants a dual threat. Then O and 2 other coaches did an in-home visit with Narcisse to try to smooth things out. I feel bad for these kids because they're all being told what they want to hear - hard to know who to trust.

Let me see what might have changed??

You think the fact he got a contract and is no longer interim might be the reason?

Real pro style QBs are kinda hard to find in college ball. imo

O does not have a singular vision of how to approach football like Elite coaches do. He doesn't have a plan, a strategy, or a core idea of HOW he does everything - recruit coaches, players, plan for games, etc.

This is a major issue.

(It's a given, Miles was TOO rigid, there's a difference between understanding on you want to approach the game, being flexible, but executing it and using it to drive your decisions....and being bone headed like later Miles years. But ELITE people in any profession have a core vision that drives them and they make all of their decisions around that.)
