Last great quarterback that we had was Tommy Hodson, and before that it was Bert Jones. Yes. I do not believe that Jamarcus Russell would be considered a big time QB in NCAA. He's definitely a bust in the NFL. How good would we be with a Colt McCoy etc.?

So Having the #1 overall QB out of High School, goin 24-4 as a starter for LSU then becoming the #1 pick in the NFL draft isnt considered a BIG TIME QB in NCAA???

he was the first overall pick

doesn't have anything to do with him being a big time QB in college

I hope for Christmas Santa takes your keyboard and gives it to someone who deserves it, or, at least isn't partially retarded.

What? Are you serious? We have the deepest, most talented QB depth chart in college football. It's called offensive coordination..

Glad you're all having fun with my post! JM never won a MNC and never would have. The point of my question is who would you rather have at the helm right now a Tommy Hodson/ Bert Jones or or JJ? He is not a true pocket quarterback and obviously cannot run the option. I agree that the play calling could be better, but maybe Miles and Crowton are doing the best that they can with what they have to work with at QB.

Neither Tommy Hodson nor Bert Jones won a national title either.

ryan perrilloux - #1 qb in country
jamarcus russell - #1 pro-style qb in country, #1 overall nfl draft pick
matt flynn - 4 star qb
josh booty - was the #1 qb in the nation out of high school (i know i know, but still)
rohan davey - set every lsu passing record, just about, at the time

takes a lot to please some people i guess

Not even on the same level as Hodson and Jones. The others were close.
