Also in Houston.
We make plans during away games. Not changing them.

I flew in to DFW last night from a business trip out in San Francisco. Too tired, too long a drive to BR and I havn't seen wife/kids for a week.

Because I live 1.5 hours from campus and I have a two year old and a seven week old. I plan my outings to games around babysitters.

I'm a season ticket holder that isn't going. When the kids school calendar came out (East Baton Rouge Parish) months ago I saw that they had off on Friday the 9th and Monday the 12th for "in-service days", so I bought tickets for ACL Music Festival in Austin and sent the family on their way. I then made appts with my "whale" clients for weekend personal visits. So I either cancel all that, or sit down with a sammich and watch the game. Pretty simple decision really. I assume tens of thousands of season ticket holders have similar issues. If you can go, great. If you can't, so be it. It's not a fricking blood oath or a loyalty test, it's a last-minute football game.
And unless you've graduated from LSU, been to over 30 years of home games, and made numerous contributions to everything under the sun, you might want to hold off on awarding yourself that jelly bean, super fan.

Because I have to plan my entire fall around LSU football. So everything I neglect for home games has to be taken care of during away games/bye weeks.
A lot of schools plan their fairs and other activities around LSU's home schedule. You have a lot of people who are volunteering who would normally be in Baton Rouge.
Its just a bad situation all around, and its really a shame; I would have loved to go to a game like this. But I'm at work, and I'll be at Fall Fest at my daughter's school all night.
