Todd Harris Kary Vincent and Mo hampton should compete for those two spots Ricks Stingley corners Flott Nickel, I have been a huge Stevens fan ever since he came here and wanted him to strive and it's not like he's bad at safety but I just think he needs to be way closer to the line so he can make plays like we know he can, now what position that is I'm not really sure but we just saw someone in Isaiah Simmons who I think Jacoby could replicate if we wanted to

I say let Bo Pelini decide what position Stevens will play, whether he's hired or not.

I agree with you, but a big factor is what does Stevens want. If his goal is to play safety in the league he probably struck a bargain with Orgeron to stay if they promise to use him more as a safety. In that case we have no choice.

Stevens will be a LB In the league. Dude can’t cover well enough to be a safety and he looks to be 235-240 pounds.

This. If they hire Bo I’ll be indifferent. Fine if they do and fine if they don’t. But the caveat is he should have control of our defense regardless. He could be at home, Baton Rouge or Timbuktu.

He froze on the option keeper that hurts scored on as well as when TL ran for a TD.

1/3 of NFL safeties can't cover well enough. that's why they're safeties

If you really believe they are safeties only because they can’t cover you are not worth the debate.

Safety or Backer, Stevens makes plays.

Excited to see him as a Tiger again next year. I think Ricks can have a Stingley-esque season next year as well.

I'm as excited about the defense coming back as I was about the offense last off-season. The DLine is coming back with a lot of experience, and they are gonna eat a ton of blocks. Whatever front we run, whoever is at backer is going to feast. I expect Clark to have a monster year.

stevens is a true ss who can play olb too. i'm sure we'll leave a spot open for him.

he just needs to be closer to the los all 3 downs. would be one of two lb roles on the field in nickel, etc.

Bo a 3-4 or 4-3 guy? Just wondering how some of these current players would translate to a different base defense

Stevens probably would be best as an ILB with some hybrid concepts.
