I would take Miles. But not in a landslide.

Honestly I wouldn't take anyone in a landslide over either one.

And I wouldn't take either one in a landslide over most coaches out there.

Most say Saban is the best out there, that could easily be true. But if you are going to tell me that Saban would no doubt have the same success here then I would say you are a fool. Because you can't possibly know.

I don't like Miles offense, and I, along with others didn't like Saban's offense either. But I can't realistically complain about our defense and special teams, or the recruiting under Miles.

Miles still has a success that I can't argue against. Things don't go your way all the time, all I can ask is that we are in the discussion.

I choose Miles. As frustrated as he might make me.

Miles >>>>>>Stoops. Imo

Miles was the ONLY coach to beat Stoops more than once during OU great run and MNC. He nearly did it 3 in a row.

Stoops has owned Mack Brown.

...who is highly regarded as a recruiter and winning coach. Stoops has not beaten a top tier SEC team in recent history or ever to my knowledge. Enough said.

Since this is LSU's toughest "standard" to go with, I will use this standard as my measure:
Having to win the SEC West and beat Saban twice in a year to accomplish your goals. Not to mention the fact that, for some reason, everyone views Saban as God...

Neither Miles nor Stoops could beat Saban twice in a season....nor could Saban beat either of those twice if it every were required of him.

So with that in mind, I will stick with the guy we have now since he's proven he can win the SEC and beat Saban at least once in a season. When he doesn't beat Saban, it is damn close.

yea. might have something to do with Saban repeatedly picking up SEC teams (with the whole TOUGHEST CONFERENCE reputation) and winning all those national championships.. etc.

Same here. It's generally regarded that Stoops became complacent at OU and I think we are starting to see that here. I still wouldn't trade the two, but ask a gain next year.

It's really odd. Seems like most would pick Miles, but I really think Stoops would be highly successful at LSU.

Watching Stoops breakdown a game, the guy communicates very effectively. He knows every detail of what happened on that field. Since I don't live in LA I don't know what Miles does on TV, but I know Bob's football knowledge is impressive.

It's just hard to augue with results. I'd say LSU beats OU most years this decade.

I hate to admit it, that could easily be true. It's human nature, but 4 mil a year should be enough to not let that happen.

I'm a Miles guy, but mostly because like I said, there isn't anyone out there that I would take in a landslide over him. He can get the job done, but offensively, my patience is wearing thin.

Big Game Bob

They both lose when it matters most, so might as well have a decent offense

There are 4 to 5 big games on LSU s schedule every season. Could you imagine LSU losing 4 games a season with Stoops here? His offense wouldn't be nearly as successful here, and the rant would meltdown every week with "Stoopsp needs to keep his damn hands out of the defensive cookie jar!"
