Anyone who says Saban at LSU is the same as Saban at Bama shows their football ignorance and anyone who thinks a favorite anything is always based on any specific set of standards shows their ignorance regarding language.

A little off topic question.... out of curiosity, when was the last year LSU had a losing season? I can’t remember what year it was...

I respectfully submit the name of one Paul Dietzel. He concocted the platoon system to include the "Chinese Bandits", the song for which is still played today by the Golden Band from Tigerland on third down stops and turnovers. His team won a single national championship, same as Miles and Saban. Dietzel took the team to heights not seen prior to his tenure.

Well, favorites is really a subjective decision. It is not the same as "best".

There have been some good ones. I'm going to go with Les. He had the personality to go with a lot of success. And his teams created some really fun football - the four fourth downs game, the flip the ball back to the kicker, etc.

His last years had some painful ball to watch, but on balance it was a fun run.

I like to imagine rein coaching from 80-99, retiring, and then lsu hiring Saban. Imagine the winning

Les

this guy took a lot of criticism and some deserved to be there but I told my wife about Kansas getting Les and she said they got a good one. She made a remark that was so true. She said with Les, you knew you were gonna have to play your best, with this guy they got now, you kinda know you're gonna win.

i know how LSU fans feel about Miles but it was much much different facing an LSU team with Les coaching than with Orgeron. U were in for a fight. I love O and his antics are good football. I loved his WWE impersonation on the Tiger walk thingy. It was entertaining and loved the way he had the players come out of the tunnel and run all over the field waving their arms, etc. All Bama fans I talked to said that was a great moment to be in Tiger Stadium with the emotion and noise. Miller Foristall said in the first qtr it was SO loud that a team mate looked at him and just smiled shook his head. Football needs that some but I never was worried about Saban losing to him.

Les was my favorite coach at LSU. Not the best x's and o's but my favorite. Most LSU fans didn't want him when he was hired (including me) Half never liked or respected him at all during his tenure at LSU. But.... no coach loved LSU more than Les did. That is sad considering how 50% of the fan base never accepted him.

I miss that crazy goofy arse man.
