Which makes no sense to me at all. Could you explain?

1. Most scenarios that put us in the NC game involve AU losing twice (to Bama and SC)

2. If Auburn beats Bama and then loses to SC, then they could (probably would) steal a BCS bid from LSU and LSU goes to the Cap One

8. Ohio State? Same deal; kind of torn. If Ohio State and Mich State win out and force a 3-way tie with Wisconsin, that may prevent voters from using the "well at least Wisc won their conference" excuse"

I'm thinking Michigan win over Ohio State helps because Michigan State would be Big10 champs, and not Wisconsin. Really nice since I'm sure NW is going to get pounded

I'm not sure I have the intestinal fortitude to pull for Bama. I want what's best for LSU, but to pull for Bama is like being an informant for Hitler.

ok, but how does LSU get to a BCS bowl with Auburn losing to Bama? Is a 1 loss Auburn going to the BCSCG? If so, this game does really matter. Ergo, Auburn win is a better outcome.

That is absurd. I am sure you will respond if Bama loses here though

11-1 LSU should be a shoe in for a BCS bowl. There is one thing that can stop that. If AU wins today and loses to SC. SC goes to Sugar. AU probably remains top 4 of the BCS and gets auto bid. LSU is screwed. If AU loses today, there is no way both SC and Auburn get BCS bids.

There is no chance whats so ever of LSU playing for the NC this year. They will not put a team in the NC if they did not play in their conf. championship game.

The best for the Tigers is for Aub. to win out play in the NC - we get a selected to play in the Sugar against Boise St. or TCU

In your opinion, what are the chances of the Sugar Bowl taking a 10-2 LSU over a 10-2 Arkansas that beat LSU assuming Auburn plays for the National Championship? My thoughts are that the chances are higher than they normally would be because LSU guarantees a sell out. Also, the state legislature gave the Sugar Bowl $3 million last year, so I could see the Sugar Bowl not wanting to bite the hand that fed them. Thoughts?

The only way Auburn helped LSU today is that we won't have to compete with Bama for a bowl spot now regardless if we win or lose tomorrow.

probably 50/50. I don't know what they think behind closed doors. We would also have to worry about 1-loss Ohio State

Matt,
Any chance you want to update this after the Auburn win? With our strong Computer score, any chance we sneak in with a few upsets this weekend?

Assuming we beat Arkansas (#12 on the road)convincingly, might we jump to 5 in the human polls? How close to overtaking Boise & TCU would we be?
