We’ve had one of the best records in the country all season long and Jay is elite at developing guys throughout the season and getting them hitting on all cylinders by the postseason. I’m not going to act like I was positive that we were going to make it out of the Supers but the “fire Jay/the sky is falling” crowd needs to come back and admit how retarded they are

The team has played well at home all year. Issues were in the road series. Had little doubt they’d make Omaha especially after seeing the draw.

I didn’t see any dominant team in college baseball this year. I figured if they could get hot their chances would be as good as anybody.

Half this board always melts down in early-mid May. Same thing happened in 2023.

I was never worried that we wouldn’t make it to Omaha. I have had concerns throughout the year about whether we had the pitching to make a run once we got there. I’ve gotten more confident on that front lately.

I won't say that I would have guaranteed it, but I've felt for most of the season that this team was capable of getting to Omaha. I've said it multiple times thst the goal is to be playing the best baseball in the back end of May and June. I don't know if we're playing the best, but it apparently was good enough. If you look at the scores, West Virginia didn't really even make a series of it. We're playing as well as anybody right now.

Wouldn’t be able to find a post of me saying we won’t make it.
We were always in position from start to finish to be top 4 in the SEC, top 8 national seed and 90% of the time that translates to Omaha for us come regional play

I didn’t think we had the pitching behind Kade and Anthony! I also didn’t think we hit good in big spots either, well we have had some good pitching beyond them and very timely hitting by multiple guys. The talent has been there but putting together was questionable even after the regular season

I thought they had a good a chance as anyone to make it

I thought that. We have one of the better rotations in the country. But it’s also baseball and upsets happen. Look at Vandy.. Georgia.. Texas.. or other teams that many thought would be here.

I did
It was apparent that we were going to host a regional and a super regional so it shouldn’t have come as a shock that we won both series.

Let’s just say I wasn’t optimistic.
We only had two reliable starting pitchers, our bullpen was a fricking dumpster fire, and we had several key players in batting slumps.
I knew from our record that we’d host a regional, but I knew that winning it and a super regional would be very difficult the way they were playing. Bad bullpen and the offensive just wasn’t great.

Same here. I was not confident that we could win the whole thing because the hitting became inconsistent on the back end of SEC play. That coupled with we were struggling to find some consistent relievers in the bullpen. Now, hitting has picked up and Jay appears to have the bullpen figured out. I think we have as good a chance as anyone now if we can get past the first game with R-Kansas

I thought the team had all of the ingredients if guys could just break out of their slumps and enough pitching could emerge to help Anderson and Eyanson. And that all happened right when we had to have it.
The bats could still be more consistent, but they were pretty good for all but one game in the regional, and we just didn’t cash in on opportunities there. But we definitely did in the last 3 games.
As for pitching, Evans’ performance Monday, Williams’ Sunday and last night and Shores’ last night were good to see. If they and Noot can deliver and the other guys can just do their limited jobs when called upon, we could make a run at this.
