Gilbert? Hess? Poche?

Also, if Gilbert or Hess starts, and we sweep, one of our usual starters wont get to pitch much. Do you think this will have any negative effect?

I would go with Walker.

But Mainieri will probably go with Poche on Friday in case he needs him on Monday.

Naw, freshman just threw 110 pitches, don't give him short rest when you don't have to.

Gilbert, especially if it ends up being Texas Southern in that first game

Why waste one of your few good relievers for the rest of the regional against a 4-seed?

Sure it is, but why take him out of his routine when you don't have to?

I'm a fan of throwing as bad a pitcher as possible against the 4 seed. The best time was when Jordan Brown started the 1/4 game against Texas Southern in 2008.

Why waste Poche against shite State? The only reason he's throw Poche on Friday is in case of Monday. That means he doesn't trust Walker on Sunday.

I mean, I'm totally ok with starting Bain Friday if it's Texas Southern. Paul won't do it though when he has a legitimate weekend rotation for the first time in a while.

Conceivable a 4 seed could have only one thing going for it -- a solid ace. In that case, Poche.
