Burns & Ryan with brooks at nickel? Or one of the freshman? I would love to see us get one more sec vet in the portal maybe with one season left for depth..

I would assume probably Burns and Brooks at safety and Ryan at nickel

Those three should be on the field.

Burns - FS
Brooks - SS
Sage - Nickel

I’m hoping we see Sage evolve into more of a FS next year. He hasn’t lived up to his recruiting hype yet but Nickel is playing him a bit out of most natural position.

Brooks is a big time playmaker at that nickel spot though..

Toviano could push for it by sec play if he’s that special to get him on the field. I think the portal vets start at cb unless banks gets a spot.

Hes a really good tackler, and attacks holes and edges with speed, trusting his tackling. I hope sage moves to safey, and they have brooks down at that nickel db for your point.

Sage has played cb for 2 yrs, so he's looked out of position each yr. Most of his plays given up, he's in decent to good coverage, guys just seem to make plays on him.

Burns and Brooks. Sage is the nickel. good depth and competition to push starters. Lots of talented young guys. When Sage got beat it was at the worst times but he also did a lot of good things and should continue to get better and if he doesn’t he will get passed.

I’m hoping Sage makes a big jump into 2023. He’s been a huge hole in our defense this year, imo.

I suspect that Sage is under 5’11

The times Brooks played nickel, he had some really good games. It all depends how the DB's perform at the spots they try them at in practices and games. Sage makes me nervous at nickel, like he's about to give up a big play.

I didn’t like our safety play at all this year. Hopefully one of the young safeties takes a spot.

Sage seems to not like contact.

Let’s not forget about Langlois who was pushing for meaningful playing time before his injury and the coaching staff was very high on

Lmao why? Our safety play was some of the best in the country. Greg Brooks/Major Burns/Joe Foucha were consistently some of the highest graded players on the team.

I think Brooks goes back to nickel … and Sage goes to FS …but he’s going to have to fight to hold off Toviano
