For $25 all you get is access to the tailgate? You still have to pay if you want drinks, food, merchandise, ANYTHING.

Oh you get access to parking which still costs you $35 more

Oh but if you’re a VIP you pay $85 and get bbq and TWO drinks.

I mean wtf what a rip off, these things at away Games used to be $25 for all you can eat/drink.

Who’s actually going to pay for this?

I agree that this year's event isn't nearly as good as last years but it was never $25. Not the one in DFW anyway.

I plan on bellying up to a bar nearby and taking an uber to game. F Tailgating in that heat.

I just don’t understand why anyone would pay $25 just to go to a bar with LSU people and have to pay for drinks and food when there will be tailgates with LSU people everywhere where you won’t and/or can bring your own

You will walk up to a random tailgate and start drinking their drinks and eating their food?

No I’ll set one up with my friends and we will bring our own stuff, and there will be several other people I know who will do the same.

Or if we don’t set one up we will all go to a bar together and not pay a $25 cover

Probably to avoid people who won't pay the $25.

Generally, the purpose of an alumni association tailgate at a non home game is to get LSU fans together to celebrate, not split them up...

Does the $25 include standing under a large tent for shade? If so I’d pay it. We nearly died walking around the stadium for the Oregon game.

The tailgate party is at a bar that’s walking distance to the stadium

Just to clarify. The tailgate you’re referencing is the one put on by the LSU Alumni Association Traveling Tigers. Their packages have always been priced this way when you aren’t taking the entire charter trip.

Why are you surprised? They do these tailgates the same way for all neutral site games and for some crazy reason you people still shell out the money to them no matter how bad they do.
