Tommy Casanova....late 60s early 70s
(running back, punt returner, kick returner, and defensive back)

In the September 13, 1971 issue of Sports Illustrated, the magazine featured Casanova on the front cover, with the headline: "Tommy Casanova of LSU, Best Player in the Nation."

and

Sammy Grezaffi mid 60s

you youngsters should look them up-lol

they are the reason I became a HARD LSU fan...before even getting to LSU.
see Cotton Bowl 1966

then I have to also include Bert Jones

These are players I have seen play myself, so that's why there are no Billy Cannons or Tommy Casanovas:

Offense: Dalton Hilliard
Defense: Ramsey Dardar/Benjy Thibodeaux

Dr. Tommy Casonova. Only three time All-American in LSU history.

Bert Jones

I have no favorite offensive player.

Defensive, though, is Laron Landry. I still watch him play all the time.
