re: Mexico City Must See

Wedding should be lots of fun. I’ll buy you some Mezcal at one of the local speakeasies.
We are doing Xochimilco for the “rehearsal dinner”. Think we decided on bike tour as it includes local food spots on the route. Really looking forward to local food throughout the CDMX area.
Mexico City Must See
Posted by mgross80 on 2/20/20 at 11:43 am
Little brother getting married at end of March in Mexico City. I have one free day. Wife and I can’t decide between doing a bike tour through the city, or going to Teotihucacan to see ruins. Anyone have any insight on these?

Did you cheer for Urban? Biggest scumbag in SEC. How about Aaron Hernandez?
Correct it is added to MDI, not used to make MDI.

We do have an EO plant on site along with about 10 other units. The fact is you don’t use EO gas to make MDI. If it’s used to make polyols that’s great. Polyols is the part b for most applications and the EO at that state would be reacted out and not nearly as dangerous as the pure EO that is at the load racks. There are lots of bad chemicals that go into making MDI but the finished product has a very low toxicity when it isn’t hot.

We don’t use polyols. MDA + phosgene = MDI. No polyols in MDA.

I’ve worked in an MDI plant for the last 12.5 years we don’t use EO or PO. We use CO to make phosgene. The only plus to working at an MDI plant is no highly volatile gases.

EO isn’t used to make MDI
If their union has negotiated these terms then that is wrong. I have worked in a union chemical plant for the past ten years and our biggest fight is on safety issues. We as union operators are the ones pushing for more stringent safety rules. Most people clump all unions together without having any real knowledge of actual unions. While unions do have their problems they have also done a lot of good.
How do unions create unsafe work places? Have you ever worked in a union job/plant?

Hawpe came to LSU as a closer and was drafted as a pitcher. Maybe one of LSU's most underrated players of all time.
re: Do you know anybody from Louisiana who hates LSU?

I guy i work with does. He played for Tulane when LSU went to the orange bowl in the early 80's. Talks about the LSU fans throwing oranges at them during the game. He also hates oranges.
Personally i got a good bit out of culinary school. My wifes cousin is currently enrolled at Nichols she enjoys it. You need to let your daughter know that the life of a professional chef is not what you see on TV. The hours are long and the pay is not great everywhere. Also you will work nights, weekends and holidays. Not to many restaurants offer much towards retirement packages unless you work for a chain or hotel. With all of this said it is also a very rewarding job that if you really enjoy cooking very gratifying. As for COOKBOOK go with The Escoffier Cook Book and guide to the fine art of cookery. Escoffier was thought by many as the best chef ever and is the father to most fine french cuisine. As some of the other posters have said let her go and work in a restaurant for a while and see for her self if that is something that she still wants.
re: Need help with a roux

Cook roux in the microwave equal parts flour and oil, cover microwave safe bowl with saran wrap and cook for three minutes. Uncover and stir, put back in for minute and a half and repeat process until u get desired color. Be careful when uncovering will supply lots of steam.
Cook it like a stew with turnips you wont be disappointed.

re: Duck Breasts

Look for Maple Leaf farms duck breast. These are probably the most used in the restaurant biz. Take a simple approach to cooking. Lightly score the fat side and season well with kosher salt and cracked black pepper. Sear fat side well to render down some of the duck fat. The slits made should start to open up. Flip and finish in oven to desired temp. I prefer med rare to medium. Make a raspberry demi or other fruit compote and serve. You can make tame duck take on any flavor you want and the sauce options are as limitless as you want them to be.
re: Used restaurant equipment online....

For hotel pans buy them new. You can find them locally at Sams. You might also want to look at Ducote's on Florida Blvd. I have found them to have the best prices in BR and they carry some used equipment. BigTray.com is also a good web site.

Why is Ar-kansas getting all this respect?
Lets look at the last four year rivals recruiting rankings:
Alabama 2010(5), 2009(1), 2008(1), 2007(10)
LSU 2010(6), 2009(2), 2008(11), 2007(4)
Florida 2010(2),2009(11),2008(3), 2007(1)
Arkansas 2010(49),2009(16),2008(36), 2007(31)
Maybe this will prove that all the stock that people put in numbers next to a high schoolers name is pretty much a guess. Yes there are players that are 5 stars and play like it but there as many four stars who play like ones as there are as many ones who play as fours. At this level the X's and O's has just as much to do about a team as the johnnys and the joes.
