If true, he and Sexton probably worked through all the details since they have a relationship already (Jimbo).

I found what you speak of….

quote:

I can confirm this. Vitello has agreed to terms with LSU. $2.7 million per year. Staff salary will be in the $2-$3 million range between pitching, hitting, and recruiting coordinator. Only issue is whether Josh Elander joins Vitello in Baton Rouge or tries to interview for the UT head coaching vacancy. Will be announced as soon as UT’s season is over and Vitello has a chance to address his team back in Knoxville.

Not a shot in hell were paying that. $4.7+ for baseball? If there's a school that'll pay it then its LSU but even then that seems ridiculous.

I’m with you on that. That’s A LOT of damn money for baseball coaches. I don’t see 2.7 for a head coach either

I’m wondering if (true) this includes money from camps.

Not that crazy, imo. That's nothing for LSU athletics and baseball is too important to the program. I think that's a crazy offer for Vitello but it would take crazy to get him here. Seems to fit Woody's MO. They want to be at the top again because LSU's program has fallen to possibly mid tier in the SEC. There's at least 3 jobs that are more attractive than us right now easily with better facilities, fan support, etc. You have to go in for a homerun if you want to rekindle any tradition this program had. I don't think some LSU fans realize how big of a hole PM put us in and let other programs pass us by.

Isn’t that about double what Paul made? Seems like a bit of a stretch

LSU baseball has plenty of supporters who will easily scratch a 5 million dollar check. They just wouldn’t give Alleva any money. If the market is 2 million ish for the best, then that’s what SW will pay.

If Woody says he should be the guy he will find the right donors to pay his salary. We sweat out his buyout number if that report is true

Remember when people were questioning if Paul could even leave because of his 3 mill buyout?
