Anyone who puts Shaq above Maravich when judging basketball talent exclusively is dead wrong.

Something as subjective as "best tiger" might be up for debate though.

The greatest tiger is Pistol Pete Maravich. 44 points per game for 3 varsity years.

This and it would have been over 50 with a three point line. And the passes were more spectacular than the scoring. There will be another Shaq but there will never be another Pete!

No love for Bert Jones - Tommy Casanova? I guess the Heisman would trump that though.

Had Dale Brown not shot himself in the foot at the end of his career, he would be a no-brainer in the coaching category. As far as an accomplished former athlete who still is a huge Tiger fan, David Toms would probably be at, or near, the top.

Y.A Tittle or Faulk (brought back the magic)

Greatest Tiger: Les Miles?

Probably gonna be Harry Rabenhorst (Head baseball coach, head basketball coach that won the only tile, and AD). Also Coach Mac. Loved LSU even after he was unceremoniously dumped.

quote:

Harry Rabenhorst began what would become a very long and successful career at LSU in 1925 as the head coach of the men's basketball team. Two years later, in 1927, he also become the head baseball coach. Along with his successes in basketball, which included a 1935 mythical national championship and an appearance in the 1953 Final Four, he also won two SEC baseball titles (1939 & 1946).[1] As a reward for his team's success on the baseball diamond, Rabenhorst was named SEC Coach of the Year in 1939 and 1946,[2] as well. Rabenhorst stepped down as baseball and basketball coach in 1942 when he left to serve in World War II.

Football- cannon
Baseball-walker
Basketball- shaq and pistol
Greatest tiger- woods. In fact, he's the only person named tiger I can think of and he was absolutely dominant on the golf course.

Football: Cannon (only Heisman, enough said)

Basketball: Shaq (changed the game)

Baseball: Todd Walker (College Baseball HOF)

Woman's Basketball: SEC Player of the Year (05,06)

Greatest Tiger = Shaq (he's known world wide)

The thread can end now, those are the answer.

The greatest Tiger, in any sport, was the Pistol. Period.
