Fenwick, you are correct sir. But I was trying to save the kid a little public humiliation. Oh, well.

VermilionTiger, embellish much?. (3+ white girls)
You won't find Jacoby Davis on the sidelines for VC. I see you posted him as part of the team. I checked your link out and the roster on that link is from 2011. Jacoby was a stud that year, returned last year as an old junior but got hurt and missed his final season of eligibility (2012). After that he had some personal issues out of school that caused him to leave. He couldn't play this year anyway as he is too old. He was the teams best player and finished second in 2011 in the offensive MVP race. Just thought I'd throw that out there for people who are closely watching for any recruits.

it is. he just told you next year. i dont know if he told you correctly or not though.

No I know what he said. What I was saying is that I thought I saw a picture, not a drawing, of gates 6 and 7 being worked on right now just like the West side is. I was wrong. But when he said next year I thought maybe he meant just for gates 8 and 9.

I understand what is going on now though. I guess we'll have new gate entrances at 8 - 9 and 6 - 7 next year while the SEZ is being worked on as well.
Some of the gating is scheduled for this phase but the gating right outside of the workout facilities is suppose to be done next year.

For some reason I thought I saw like one picture a little while back that the same work that's being done there at the West entrance was being done at the student entrance. The renderings show gates 8 and 9 as well as the student entrance getting the same update as the West side. I use gate 9 so I guess I'll see in September.
guess they changed the design up some because i dont see that wall in this pic.

Yea, I don't see a cement, or whatever it is, wall behind the iron gate all the way to the left. It looks awkward but I am sure there is a reason it is there just wondering what it is.
Not sure if this has been asked but what is that wall to the far left that seems to be by itself for? It is inbetween two pillars and just looks random.

Also, does anyone have pictures of the new gates at the NEZ? I thought they were doing the same thing there but I haven't seen any pictures other than artist renderings.

Hadn't thought about Roch staying until his dad was ready to retire ... thanks for that wonderful thought. UGH.

I agree with you on this...don't want to think about another good hire leaving already. Will be a while though so hopefully we have more success whiles he here so we can intice another good coach when he's gone.
This may reveal my age but I have no idea who this is. What did he play and did he play at the next level(s)?

And by "this kid" being on the same level as Coco, if you mean the QB, nope. Great kid but I don't think same level as Coco.

Ha, no I was definitely kidding. I saw him play last year. I'm not knocking the kid but he just isn't the athlete that Jacoby is...most human beings aren't. I do think they will need a bigger/better alternative though. Especially if Trev's nephew leaves.

Arlyn Dozier was a 97 grad. The second best athlete to come out of the school.

You can't say second best without mentioning the best!
I wonder what Roch is gunna do with a short QB. I guess in 1A you can get away with the option as your primary but it won't win you a state title unless this kid was on the same level as coco.

I think the guys was kidding around when he asked about Arlyn. He was sick athlete at VC in the mid to late 90's.
Dozier was from the mid to late nights. I can't give you an exact year.
tiger91, that really is good news to hear they bumped up Roch. I hope he finds some good guys willing to go to Abbeville to help him. As far as the QB position goes...last year I remember the back up being extremely small. I mean very short. Is this the kid with the health problems?

Trev's nephew is also leaving but won't he have to sit out for a year??? Poor kid sat out LAST year ... appealed adn appealed to the LHSAA to get eligibility to play. hate to see him perhaps have to sit another year.

This is very good point that I didn't think about. Something tells me though they will let him with is not fair to him or VC since he had to miss an entire year. But the LHSAA is weird so who knows. VC would be very lucky and in A LOT better shape if he stays. Apparently he is one of the fastest kids in the state.

did arlyn dozier go to harvest time too?

No clue on that one. Might have to head over to raginpagin.com and ask the man they call "Boomer." He might know.

Tyson Andrus was the DC at VC ... was on the 2007 LSU championship team. He's going to be with Trev at Northside from what I've heard.

Man my child is heart broken.

I did not know this...wow. With Trev at the head, Tyson at DC and Sonny Charpentier's son Roch who played QB in college(not to mention learning that offense from his dad)...VC had a pretty outstanding coaching staff. Sad to see them go but wish them the best of luck. I think of Roch becomes head coach and he does what Trev did, surround himself with a good supporting cast, VC shouldn't have to worry about the future. They have good years every couple of years but it's normal...unless you're John Curtis.

Lack of coaching and discipline has been a staple at Northside for years.

They can be monstrous with TF as the new coach.

One of the things that made him so successful his first year as a head coach was surrounding himself with a good supporting cast. If he does that at Northside watch out!

Jacoby Davis went from JH Williams to Harvest Time, also Michael Turner started out at JH Williams then transferred to Harvest Time. nice try

So VC isn't taking J.H. Williams kids. You literally just proved my point. Kids transfer from Harvest Time to VC. They transfer from a private school they have to pay for to another private school they have to pay for. I don't see how VC is going to J.H. Williams and is luring kids out with a "scholarship" as you call it. I don't know if your bitter with VC for some reason but you clearly need to think before you speak. Just because a kid decides athletics are really important to him and he wants to play for a form LSU standout and NFL player doesn't mean anyone is recruiting. It means VC looked a whole lot more promising and fun than Abbeville High.
