Our O in '07:
WR's: Early (injured much of '07), LaFell (had a bad case of the drops for much of '07), Byrd (JuCo transfer and very fast), Toliver (TrueFr).

OL: Ciron, Big Herm, Helms, Hitt, and Carnell (Converted DL and 1st yr starter). Ryan Miller backup. I think Will Arnold missed the entire year. Barksdale (true Fr.) and another guy who transferred to OU also played.

QB: Flynn (with soph RP who started vs Mid Tenn State) and SECCG)

RB: Hester, Keiland, Chuck the Truck. MMA Jordan and Quinn were FBs.

Lot of talent and productivity but I think Cam inherited a better talent pool.

Close but Cam got a returning starter at QB. Slight edge to Cam's inheritance for this reason.

I'll go Crowton cause had Cam had that team, we go undefeated IMO.

Cam only because the expectations on offense are so low.

Crowton inherited a better defense to take the pressure off of his offense. Well, at least it looks that way after two games.

Cam...offense about the same, but Crowton's D was better, resulting in more time of possession and field position...

Cam doesnt coach defense. Bos defenses got shredded on a few occasions. Some fans still think he was the better dc over Chavis.

Crowton- the 2006 offense was pretty damn good too and didnt need to be completely overhauled. Also, his predecessor at OC and QB coach was more than competent, instead of a bumbling arse clown.

Always amazed me how much hate Jimbo got from rantards.

Cam hasnt had to completely overhaul the offense tho, it's actually changed less from last yr than what Crowton changed from 06 to 07 (thus far, anyway).

Both walked into great situations with quite a bit of experience returning and talent. It's pretty much a toss up.

No, the problems in 07 were caused by injuries in the Defensive Line.

Cam has a proven OL and a Quarterback with a full season of experience, experienced proven WRs, and more depth at RB, now that Hill is back.

Uh, GC inherited an offense practically intact that prolly should've won a NC the prior year, Cameron not so much.

Not really. Bowe, Russell, Davis were pretty big losses.

We lost two games in 2 OT because our defense couldn't stop U High. Had nothing to do with Crowton.

Interesting point. They both came into situations with 5th year senior QBs and lots of talent at the edges and in the backfield. Easy for a coach to look good in that situation.

If I recall, back in 2007 everybody thought Crowton was the greatest offensive mind LSU had ever had.

Matt Flynn lost the Ark game in the first quarter. He played the worst half of football any LSU QB may have played in the Les tenure in the first half of that game.

2001 Bears Team offensive ranking 11th with John Schoop as OC (not Crowton) 2001 the Bears went 13-3
2001 BYU - 618 Points scored in 14 games. Crowton's 1st year. 12-2
2002 BYU - 272 Points scored in 12 games. Crowton's 2nd year. 5-7
2003 BYU - 196 Points scored in 12 games. Crowton's 3rd year. 4-8
2004 BYU - 267 Points scored in 11 games. Crowton's 4th year. 5-6
--------
2005 BYU - 396 Points scored in 12 games. 1st year w/o Crowton. 6-6
2006 BYU - 478 Points scored in 13 games. 2nd year w/o Crowton. 11-2

2005 Oregon - 414 Points scored in 12 games. Crowton's 1st year. 10-2
2006 Oregon - 383 Points scored in 13 games. Crowton's 2nd year. 7-6
-----------

2010 LSU - 313 points scored in 12 games Crowton’s 4th year. 11-2 (7 passing TDs - 1 a HB pass, 27 rushing TDs, 31 XPs, 26 FGM)
2011 Maryland-277 Points scored in 12 games..Crowton Fired 2-10
2012 CFL Winnipeg 376 pts (worst in CFL) 18 games..Crowton O.C. 6-11
2013 Aug. Winnipeg Crowton Fired offense produced five passing touchdowns in a 1-6 start

It's not like Crowton has a history of sputtering offenses wherever he goes, or fanbase that are "happier" to see him leave rather than sadder to see him stick around.

dude... both Lee and Jefferson had worse halves. Flynn struggled with accuracy that game, but he threw 3 TDs (with a 4th called back because Early lined up wrong) vs no INTs. I wouldn't put the loss on him.

As you can see from Crowton's bad bad football record....

Crowton always inherites better players, than he
developes....

His dismel record speaks for itself....

How he get another job is beyond me
