I was there before those days and I’m only 28. My days began with the goat Stro and Brady ball.

Had a longstanding theory that he couldn't dunk. He was 6'5" and I never saw him dunk one time.

He took away from stringers minutes?? No. Stringer not being able to play point guard took away from his minutes. Your point stands can’t have two guys that short out there at same time but hickey was just plain better and that’s not a knock on stringer

Eddie Ludwig/Zach Kinsley/Daron Populist/Dennis Harris

09/10 was such a low point for basketball, poor Tasmin Mitchell deserved better for his Sr. season.

I remember Magnum Rolle was supposed to lead us to the promise land. Then he transferred to La Tech and became a beast.

I think Chris Johnson might've come from that same recruiting class and prep school, he actually turned out to be pretty good.

I was. He had such an accurate shot for a 7’ true center. That UVA loss still hurts. I remember being on the cusp of being a really solid team before that game.

I was there for an interesting stretch. Brady coming off of 2006 Final Four, a disappointing collapse the next year, and rock bottom after that. Butch Pierre brought us hope against Tennessee for a game. Pretty sure we lost 47-45 with a Chris Johnson dunk to tie was waved off because it was too late.

I saw the return of some exciting ball in 08-09 when Trent looked like a genius...and it was back to shite quickly.

I was stoked to go to the NIT until Oregon pushed our shite in.

While I agree with Hamilton that while he wasn't a huge pro prospect, he really wasn't going to get better by staying another year, with him we could have had a really good team in 2013, 19-12 overall and 9-9 in conference with several close losses. Hamilton would have been by far the best player on what was a pretty good team. I think he would have help us win several more games and probably enough to get into the NCAA

Ice Dome game was my freshman year, good times.

Martin's dunk against Florida still sticks with me to this day.

I was so excited after hearing we made the tourney in '15, only to be crushed after that blown lead against NC State.

I wonder where we'd be today if Mickey and Martin stayed for the Simmons year.

Only season I kinda took off since I was 10 years old was the season after Randy got hurt. I was so heartbroken I just couldn’t watch much of it. But basketball was my first love, I’ve been watching the tigers since Redden and John Williams.

Surprised no one has mentioned Darcy Malone yet lol

Dude was tall for nothing. Took music appreciation with him in 2013, seemed like a nice guy but a little weird.

I thought Stringer gave us a shooting boost that we didn't have with Hickey on the floor. Hickey was fun, played with quickness and speed, but he was inefficient on offense and didn't playmake enough for a starting PG in the SEC. Stringer went down from 30+ to 25 mins per game as a senior and had pretty much the same level of production as before. Hung around in the G league to for a while I beleive

Hickey was our point, Stringer was a 2 who didn’t have the handles to be an SEC point guard. Hickey wasn’t a great shooter but he led the SEC in assist to turnover ratio for 2 years and was in the top 10 in the nation in steals for 2 season ranking 2nd in one. He also had a knack for having big games against our toughest opponents, 20 and 8 vs Kentucky, 18 and 7 against a loaded Marquette team to name a couple. Hickey didn’t cut into strings minutes they played together. It was a huge mistake for Jones to basically give Hickey the boot in favor of Josh Gray, Hickey was one of our best most underrated point guards in recent memory.

I remember thinking Josh Gray was a big get because he averaged like 30 ppg in JUCO. What a weird time.
