Personally, I just can't tell. We saw incredible production in 2013 and we all thought he was a great hire at the time, but now I see people calling for his head. But is it more miles overriding Cam's philosophy and play calling or is Cam a one and done who thrived off of a year where we had absurd talent at the skill positions? It's so hard to tell from the outside looking in, but my gut feeling is Les has more input than Cam and shackles him beyond belief.

What do you guys think?

Without knowing exactly what he's been freed to do, not the first a-hole here can honestly answer this question.

Only so much you can do when you're forced to have a TE and a FB in until 3rd down.

Either he's bad at developing QBs or Brandon Harris is just that bad.

I believe he is a good OC when he is allowed to have complete control of the offense.

Agreed, but if he was shackled to multiple tight end sets, why not use them more in passing situations? That where I question his ability as an OC

they probably under performed, especially on 1st and 2nd downs.

I don't think NFL coaches do well in the college game

I think fired NFL coaches do a poorer job.

I think coaxes fired from NCAA jobs, and multiple NFL jobs are the worst possible choice. He has zero incentive to excel, he is getting his cash, he isn't desirable for anyone that would pay him more to be a HC or OC

We created the perfect storm of non production in both Steele and Cameron

His scheme relies on vertical passing. Odell Beckham is the most dangerous vertical receiving threat in the NFL. Landry and Beckham bailed the offense out with absurd catches all year. We were successful in 2013 and ranked high in some important stats like yards per play. Total offense wise, we were in the middle of the SEC. We were ranked #1 in the SEC this year going into Bama. It has nothing to do with Miles overriding him.....in fact, the only really effective part of our offense and why we were ranked high this season is the running game, which most people would assume Miles has his hand in. I don't think Cam works for college football. The scheme is very demanding with long routes and requires a qb to throw several low percentage throws.

Mett struggled his JR season

Mett balled out his SR season

Jennings was not the answer and never showed any promise

Harris looked like a true freshman his first year

Harris's sophomore season leaves a lot to be desired, but there was a lot of improvement.

I say all this to say only time will tell how good Cam really is at qb. He once said a guy isn't ready to be a starting qb until he is 20 or in his JR season.

Last drive of the first half of the arkansas game was called beautifully.

I honestly don't know. LSU had record breaking offense in 2013 and the first 7 games of 2015.
We also had record breaking offense in 2014 and the "last" two games of 2015.

And opening drive of the 2nd half. Good balance and some good routes. Those were the only 2 drives that looked like we had a plan. The one in the first half was due to tempo.

So you have some of the best wrs and rbs in the country...even if a QB doesn't have a lot of time to through, getting the ball out on quick timing routes loosens defenses...we have not seen any effective short to intermediate routes..just a bunch of jump balls..So from my perspective, he has not earned his money

Should be easy for you to link if he is handcuffed. Would be hard to keep this many people shut up within the program about handcuffing of the offense
