Orgeron very limited sample size and extremely down SEC schedule
How was the qb play vs Alabama and Florida in comparison
The SEC was really down
Hopefully it continues

The only thing that matters is we haven't had consistent QB development since Jimbo left. Until that's fixed, LSU will continue to fall behind the nation's elite.
The game has changed a tremendous amount over the last 15 years, so you aren't comparing apples to apples using only one stat.

How did Saban win a NC every year he was here if those stats are true?

It was down when Saban was at LSU. Won the SEC west with 3 losses. That's not happening anymore.

Etling played well enough to win the Florida game.

Are you questioning the number? If so, it's accurate from Missouri through the bowl game.

There is an old saying that goes "figures lie and liars figure" meaning dont believe everything you see because the data can make something appear it is not.
Orgeron data is too small a sample size to compare to the others...

Face it, this has not been a strength for LSU this century. Arguably their best QBs at LSU were recruited by there predecessors as head coach. These are the 6 QBs that have made an NFL roster from LSU this century and 3 were recruited by Dinardo. Craig Nall, Rohan Davey, Josh Booty, Jamarcus Russell, Matt Flynn, and Mett. A couple of guys made it for awhile at other positions and maybe a couple of others made a practice squad for a brief time.

clearly, you don't like the stats.
but it's not just Etling's QBR over the 8 games, but the offensive yards per play.
i agree with others that it's a small sample size, but still the results are going in the right direction. I expect that we'll see that continue under Canada.
you don't have to like the numbers, but they are what they are.

Sorry couldn't help myself...

No consistent QB development since Jimbo was here is true.
Isn't that a big reason that Canada was hired?

The sec west was absolutely shite when saban was at lsu. He coached against 1 sec west team that finished top 10.
Thats right during Saban's tenure at lsu only 1 other sec west team finished top 10.
During his entire tenure at lsu there were only 2 sec west programs to win 10 games. 03 ole miss and 04 auburn.

Where are all these programs with consistent good qb play?
Bama and UGA under RICHT.

No it hasn't. The only thing changed is more teams running simple spread offenses.

Nope. Nothing that the bullshite QBR stat comes up with surprises me. If it's not the most useless stat in sports, it's pretty damned close.

The SEC wasn't down that year, but the SEC West was. Florida and Tennessee both finished that season in the top 4 in the polls. Those were two of our three losses. Oddly, LSU beat Tennessee (in the SECCG) and Auburn beat Florida, although both LSU and Auburn lost three games each.
