Crowton definitely was more of a mixed bag of tricks guy; whereas Cam brings an Offensive Philosophy.

See how I capitalized that? That means I think it's good.

Its hard to say. Because we had good qb play from jmarc in 05 and 06. So really crowton is the reason we are excited about cam, our qbs were terrible under him.

I wasnt excited about crowton now that i think about it. Cus either way he was a down grade from Jimbo.

Well, if Cam has anywhere close to the success that Crowton had his first year then we are golden.

Way to go trying to put a negative spin on something that everyone is happy about.

Another big diff to watch for:

Crowton was notoriously poor at developing a QB. He excelled in his career when handed a developed, experienced QB.

Cameron is well known for the opposite: developing QBs.

You're right, VT was the first home game and second overall.

The MSU game was not a glowing reflection on the offense; it was more so the defense. 7 turnovers forced. The LSU offense struggled a lot and was given short fields. VTech game was a different story.

I remember a BYU poster came on here before the season started and warned us about Crowton. Sadly, he was too right.

I remember this.

Oregon, BYU, and LaTech fans warned us that he starts hot and goes downhill.

We just didn't want to listen.

Please don't compare the two. Cam has had success every where he's been. Accomplished NFL and college OC and been a head coach in both leagues as well.

Correct I remember the ranters being out in full force saying Flynn sucked.

I believe Crowton's first game was a beatdown of Virginia Tech, something like 48-7. People were way more excited about him after that game than Cameron right now.

Miss St was the first game of the season that year on a Thursday night. I remember folks complaining that the offense was VERY vanilla. But i'll grant you, after the VTech game, that changed quickly. It was a well called game offensely.

Tough to say. Crowton came in after the '06 offense, so there wasn't the desperation that was present after the '08-12 seasons, but that VT game was probably the most dominant offensive displays I've seen when you factor in VT's defensive reputation. I think they hit 600 yards.

Edit = Nevermind, forgot VT was the 2nd game of the year.

Crowton got to piggy back off an already good offense. Then it went downhill.

Cam had to come in and fix it. So far so good. 2 different situations.

"Crowton's first game was against MSU 45-0."

The 2007 team accomplished everything it set out to at the beginning of the year, but I really believe that it would have been the greatest LSU team ever if injuries, especially on D, had not taken such a toll. The combo of O and D in the early part of the year was insane.
