The point? Stop trying to annoint the next guy before we see them play. For all we know, Howard could be a bust. I don't think he will be but its not a sure thing that he plays well in college. Nuss could also turn out to be who we thought he was when we recruited him despite having a bad game vs southern. Or he could flop. Lets just wait and se

Howard could bust. But Nussmeier won’t be here to see it. Saying that he is likely to transfer isn’t about anointing Howard. It’s recognizing that a guy going into year three isn’t sticking around to sit behind a returning starter.

Will Perkins renegotiate his deal with LSU by entering the portal?

You are getting bashed for this. But, people are fooling themselves if they think under the table illegal phone calls and offers aren’t going to happen. Im not talking about Perkins specifically, but this type of thing will happen to some extent with great players nationally. It’s the Wild West now and you can’t bet the house on any player at any program anymore.

Wide receivers would be my best guess.

Why? Any remaining WR after Boutte and Jenkins move on will be in line for plenty of PT next year. That and we are certainly looking better in the pass game and distributing the ball more lately outside of the poor game vs Arkansas. If there hadn’t been any improvement since the beginning of the season I would be worried, but I I don’t see an exodus now.

Derrick Davis before the move to RB maybe he stays now

Davis if you're seeing this, LSU Coaches, and us dedicated Fans, saw you Saturday night!

Stick around run the ball for us please.

That backfield might be crowded next season, but I bet Davis will get a shot to stake a claim before this season is finished. With Goodwin done and Williams a little banged up and Emery fumbling multiple times a game, he will get some touches.

It depends on the transfers we bring in. I think several OL that have been passed up by younger guys will leave as well. Players know if they have a chance to beat a guy out or not.

Only portal losses I can see on defense would be Raydar, McGee, or Penn.
OL would prolly take the brunt of transfers out with Hill, Martinez/Turner, Bradford/Thomas, Dumervil/Kimo all looking for PT and all but Kimo having made contributions in the SEC at some point.
Then there's Nussmeier - who hasn't exactly pulled up trees for PT. For my money, after the 4&8 game the backup QB at LSU becomes WH. He can play in 3 more games. Just sayin'.
So, we could have 4 or so guys leaving the OLignment. I'll guess the Coaches have plans one way or the other but not signing good players who are available - then possibly getting left at the alter when spring practice is over - ain't in the cards.

He couldn't be more LSU. Jack is one of our best receivers and will be a great leader in the receivers room. He has Heart

Nuss sitting out the bowl game was directly related to saving an eligibility year for transfer

Sure, but he hasn't exactly seized the day, has he?

What sort of transfer opportunities is he likely to find based upon his showing this year?

At the very least, someone in G5 will definitely take a former 4 star QB with some mobility and a live arm. I’m sure there are middle and lower P5s who look at him, as well. He has potential in the right system.

He won’t, he’s done for the year according to BK

If you are talking about Goodwin, I said that he’s done for the year. I was referring to Davis getting a shot to run the ball in these next two games after getting some carries late in the 4th vs UAB.

ETA: I just went back and read the press conference notes, which I messed yesterday. I didn’t know Davis is redshirting. Too bad considering how thin we are at RB now.

I agree with you, but everyone used to say that about Josh Boutte. You never know...

With the young recievers coming in and Hilton getting over his injury, I can see Bech leaving

After his personal success last season, I would guess he's disappointed this season. Kelly obviously favors Taylor or Bech at TE.
