We should be wearing the purple jersey more anyway. When i was younger thats what LSU wore. Gold purple gold.

The problem with that is that G-P-G wasn’t a thing for generations that grew up watching Tiger football before the 80s. Everyone hated that the NCAA forced LSU to wear the purple jerseys. Everyone rejoiced when DiNardo got the rule changed. Then under Saban, LSU decided to bring them back for some non-conference games for many of the same reasons we are seeing the alts today ($$$$). Nobody at that time viewed G-P-G as a tradition or the preferred jersey combo. This isn’t some beloved multi-generational “tradition” being supplanted by a new generation. It’s at most a one or two generation preference evolving with newer generations.

I'm an older guy (46) who loves the traditional white jerseys and not a huge fan of mixing it up. That being said, if the players love it and want a variety of jerseys then who cares? Let it be and quit yelling at the wind.

It’s been 40 years, but the first 12 years were forced upon LSU and nobody wanted them. The next 5 years they rejoiced at not wearing them, then LSU brought them back as a money grab that the older generations hated just as much as you guys hate the other alts today Doesn’t sound like much of a tradition to me.

It was when it was brought back under Saban. The “tradition” is that LSU doesn’t have 2 primary jersey combos like everyone else. The G-W-G is what makes LSU unique. Bringing back the purple jerseys under Saban was a money grab no different than the alts of today. If people really wanted them back then, LSU never would have petitioned to wear white.

Something has to be done? Like what? Get over it, man. Baylor is visitor and wearing white jerseys so LSU must go with purple jerseys. On bowl game neutral sites home wears dark and visitor wears white.

who cares. The LSU gold helmet is iconic. Their white jersey and our purple jersey contrasts greatly. Seriously get rid of the white helmets. And, seriously get off my lawn.
