LSU vs Tulane game in 1984 and I watched Shawn Burks clotheslined 2 Tulane players in the endzone during a game ending brawl.

You Rang...........(Shawn comes flying in at 2:20)

Both are great. One may be faster but both play with passion and intensity. Burks was a badass on the field (and off) but he is one of the nicest most genuine people I have met. If you need some huge wooden beams and wood floors or ceilings, he's your man.

Shawn is 62 and still a great guy. His dad had him and his older brother Michael Paul who was a DL, cutting, splitting and hauling firewood and doing other farm chores regularly. That’s how they rolled. Pure American hard working bad asses on the field, but great guys off the field as well. Weeks sure has the potential to be as good as Shawn and time will tell.

What I think is cooler than the fight is the footage of a packed Tiger Stadium on Thanksgiving Saturday in the last 15 seconds of a 2 TD+ win over Tulane. How many seats you think would be full at that point today?

I like Ron, he was the most non football player looking football player I 've ever met.

But I can't compare Shawn Burks and Whit Weeks.....I've seen Burks fight....haven't seen Weeks yet.

Wasn’t there a player with the last name Vickers that played in HS with Shawn and maybe went to LSU as well?

Epic video. That was awesome! Burks is around 61 years young now. He grew up w my little brother and he was good at and played all sports. He also had a serious mean streak like Weeks. I tried playing basketball against him on concrete when we were both in our 20's but that didn't work out so well for me. Way too physical playing on concrete. Ha! He started all 4 years at LSU and was a tackling machine. I would say he was more of a Dick Butkus type linebacker. Weeks is a blitzing machine w his speed and agility. Good to see the reference. I can agree w that! Geaux Tigers!!!!!!

I’m privileged to have Shawn as one of my good friends. Can’t say enough good stuff about him. His wife/ college sweetheart is a doll. Fit, in shape folks. They are the same size as when they were in college.

He fell of his roof about 6 months ago. Broke hisself all up. He is so tough and strong that he’s walking around today like nothing happened.

He is also a bow hunter extrodinaire. Badass. Climbs mountains, shoots elk and packs them out in big pieces. Badass gentlemen is what he is.
