2012 - Until HB7 got kicked off the team; that was a downer.
2013
2015 - It's so wide open this year. We have a good chance to win any and every game.

After the Cotton Bowl against A&M, I knew 2011 was going to be a monster.

Also thought 2006 was our year with all of that talent, but after 4 first round picks I wasn't as optimistic about 2007...until Virginia Tech, and my jaw dropped.

07 was the the only year I remember thinking it would be an actual huge disappointment if we didn't at least play in the title game.

I feel like any year thats our ceiling if everything goes right.

Honestly maybe 2012 OR 2013 too although in 13 I thought out schedule would catch up to us.

And i was serious. No purple and gold glasses

And the drop linebacker happened

I really thought that team would win the SEC going into the season.

I call BS. We finished 8-5 with a Cotton Bowl loss in 2002. Nobody saw that team coming, not even LSU fans. It wasn't until we crushed Arizona and edged Georgia that people started thinking about championships.

How LSU did not win in 2012, I'll never know.

A lot people leaving off 2005. Jesus, that team was f'n awesome and I'm 100% certain that had it not been for the hurricanes, that team wins the national title while going undefeated. They just ran out of gas due to completely justifiable off the field stuff affecting their conditioning.

But that team was a monster.

Pretty much half of the Les Miles era has had a team that had a legit chance to win the title: 2005-2007 and then the next window from 2011-2013 (man, I did not see hour defense being THAT bad in 2013... I thought we'd contend for the SEC in 2010 but there were still huge QB issues that likely prohibited a title).

Next window starts now.

For starters, the heart and soul of the team got the boot a few weeks before the season began. Second, our savior QB didn't play like it that year (he did the next year, for sure).

2011 and 2012 prior to Tyrann being kicked off.

I really like this team this year. A first year starter has played in the national championship every year for the past few years. What happens in the first 2 SEC games will tell us how far we can go.

True. But if LSU beats Alabama, they win the title. They gave that game away. LSU out gained Bama by over 100 yards and controlled the second half of the game but bad play calling and Miles being cute cost LSU.

Texas and USC would still have been #1 and #2
