lol, wut? Ever heard of Matt Canada?

I guess you also forgot Troy... He was throwing anything and everything under the bus after that loss.

so 3 years of otherwise good decisions and upward trajectory leading to the greatest season in CFB history are all bullshite cuz he had an issue with one coach known for not getting along with his HCs? O shouldn't have hired Canada but that one misstep is an outlier for O's pre 2020 decisions and demeanor.

And that was different how with what went on with Miles or even somewhat with Nick.

LSU coaches have always had to take a lot crap. It’s just that now they get paid millions to take it

Festus, Told me about what, 2019? I don't think so. I recall you and Jones not replying to posts about Ed after 2019. Guess yawl went into hiding and waited for where we're at now to to speak up again.

This is literally so stupid.

Almost no one supported the hire and everyone melted down.

No one was really happy with it until 2019, where pretty much the entire fanbase took a pause and said "huh, maybe we were wrong about O."

And then 2020 happened and the fanbase said nope, we were right.

Thanks for 2019, but O can GTFO!

No. It wasn't about not liking the coach. The anti O crowd was as bad as the ridiculous cancel culture Libs are today (and were back then).

You ever go on twitter and look at the comments under a trump tweet? (RIP Trump on twitter. Even if you hated the guy he was entertaining af. GREAT content.) Same thing would happen here just instead of Orange man bad, it was Shrimp Boat Man bad. SAME. EXACT. ENERGY.

Ok I fricks with that, I just can't stand people who pull for us to lose to get a coach fired. We haven't seen that much since 2017 but I will never forgive a "Fan" for rooting against our Tigers.

I want O gone with every fiber in my body but I hope like hell we somehow beat Florida on Saturday. (We won't but a boy can dream)

Who cares who supported the CEO hire. We now have Woodward to guide us and I trust him to make a good hire.

I'd argue the majority of the fanbase came around on O in 2018 after we dog walked Miami, beat Auburn in dramatic fashion, and made UGA our bitch.

This is false, we can bring up the threads and easily verify that there were plenty of people happy about it.

I was a Coach O supporter from the beginning. I liked the hire at the time and liked it even more after he won the Natty. Looking back I have to give most of the credit to Burrow and Brady for the title. Coach O deserves the credit for making the decisions to go get Burrow and hire the right Assistants to win. But that’s where it ends for me. He has shown time and time again, a refusal to make in game adjustments. No matter how bad the game is going. Every season LSU has the defense and the talent on the offensive side of the ball to be a top 10 team, if not the talent to win it all. But Coach O just can’t develop players and bring that winning mentality out of them. Thanks for the title, but it’s time to go.

I hope we don't end up like Auburn, looking back at 2019 like some fat middle-aged guy does with his high school glory days.

We can agree here. But as opposed to Auburn, we have won our last 2 NCs with bafoons as HC so IF we hire a competent HC, I see no reason we can't rise to the top once again.

In 2019 O did what he promised. Hired good coordinators and stayed out of the way. That season we got to see what LSU could be with good coaches making effective gameplans. Imagine having that consistently because our HC has that ability and isn't reliant on his coordinators alone.

Refusal or inability? I think O would love to make the proper in game adjustments, he just doesn't know what those adjustments are. In 2019 we had other coavhes who could identify and implement the adjustments. We have not had that since.

All the above are specific examples of coaches who relied/rely on coordinators and were/are successful

CUM can call 1 side of the ball. his OC's at his stops ran his offense. he would not fail if one left. he would take over play calling duties. How do you know he was not calling some plays at BG? utah? UF? osu?

You obviously have not followed football long.

to put those others with CUM is flat out ignorant and stupid.

yoiu actually think CUM relied on OC's like those others you listed? because it was not his offenses at his stops? or that he cannot call plays?

HOLY frick MAN!

Ryan Day completly changed his offense from what Dan Mullen and Tom Herman ran to an all out aerial attack. Say what you want but Urban Myer did not call plays and relied on his OCs.

The difference between Myer and O? Myer could identify good coordinators and then gave them the freedom to call the offense.

Meyer also helped design the offense he ran with Mullen and Herman.

But like Saban he is a smart coach who knows offense and Understands Xs and Os enough to hire the right coordinators.

I did not like the hire because I thought it would be Johnny Jones 2.0. Hiring a guy with ZERO demand outside of LSU simply because he was "one of us". I thought it would ultimately be a 5 year waste of time. Not great. Not terrible. But 5 years that would get LSU no closer to the point they were failing to reach under Miles. As it turns out, I will be right about the 5 years...but wrong about it being a waste of time. He did get LSU to the top of the mountain...before collapsing the program. So, like Jones, he did improve the program...but ultimately leaves it in bad shape mired in apathy.

I was more angry with the process in which he was hired. Just complete incompetence. Fire your HC early in the season to "get a head start" on finding his replacement. word leaks that you landed the hottest name at the time...only to have that HC's agent the leverage Texas vs. LSU. That's fine. That's what agents do.

But the anger came when the bozo AD rushes to the podium...before the final Saturday of the regular season to triumphantly announce he hired a coach that would have still been available a week before the start of the next season was infuriating. No trying to battle Texas for Herman. No apparent other candidates besides Herman. Just a vindictive clown who didn't want to be "upstaged" in his failure of a search.

I don't know who Woodward will ultimately hire. But I'm at least glad Joe Alleva is is no way, shape or form involved in this hire.

HE RAN HIS OFFENSES AT ALL THE SCHOOLS I LISTED. THOSE OC'S RAN HIS STUFF. did he change up some from UF to OSU based on personnel? yes but still spread offenses. he ran a spread option version at UF and went to power spread/power read at OSU.

HITF DO YOU THINK HE STAYED SUCCESSFUL with many different OC's if that is who he relied on?

MEYER cannot call plays? from his own offenses?

at BG? UTAH? UF? OSU?
