At the end of the day, it comes down to how good of players you have on the field. Last year LSU didn’t have enough athleticism on defense overall to stop dual threat QBs. This year they do. Simple as that.
This. Your DTs have to be able to get off blocks and your DEs have to be able to set the edge and hold contain. Your LBs have to be able to make correct run fits and at least keep the QB moving laterally so others can rally to the ball. Your Safeties have to be able to diagnose anything getting past the front 7 and shut it down.
We’ve had multiple issues across the front 7 and Safeties over the last 2 seasons, especially in 24. We are playing some young guys up front and have some depth issues, but this is still the best starting front 7 we’ve had in a while. While losing Spears sucks, this is still a great Safety group too.
I was happily surprised at how well we did vs Auburn, but getting Weeks back in the green dot role and Dottery back just playing and not having so much responsibility should take this defense to another level.

There is a huge difference between a running QB and a dual threat QB. Which are we talking here? Stopping a running QB is the same as stopping a running back. Stopping a dual threat QB requires speed at the LB position, and disciplined players who stick to their assignments. The teams that tend to do the worst against a true dual threat are teams like LSU that has an attacking defense. Attacking tends to put your players out of position, especially if they get stoned by a block.

So far, definitely not Baker
We have allowed 42 total rushing yards and 5.3 rushing yards per game against quarterbacks. 67 yards have come on two plays from Parker Puckett and Byrum Brown.

Chavis was pretty good and one of his key points was speed. Put lots of speed on the field. LBs and DEs who could haul tail.
Agree. Chavis’s 4-3 was a great fit with Louisiana high school athletes

some fans still want to shite on Baker.
Att/Yards:
Chambliss: 9/2
Reed: 10/-13
Brown: 19/20"
14 sacks against those 3 running QBs.
Who's doing it better?
Please don't confuse my opinion with statistical evidence.
