I always liked the black shoes but it doesn’t look good with the high socks

It’s mostly the camera technology and the stadium lighting at the time.
Those yellows and blues are a lot more similar than these photos show.

I’d like to see a gold like the Washington Huskies.

I wasn’t too crazy about that which is actually gold though.

While working in the local media, I once called LSU for their official colors or hues. I was told they were International Orange, also called School Bus Yellow. (Think stop signs.)
And, of course, Royal Purple.
Over the years, as uniform material went from cotton to other nylon blends, the dyes changed a bit.
The bluish colors you see at times on TV are definitely the fault of stadium lighting and camera lens quality.
As for older color photos, there are myriad reasons … print dyes, fading, camera flash type, etc.

Does this have anything to do with the camera 25 years later? Both LSU and Florida are brighter and crisper.
Maybe, but hues aside I noticed the older pants have a metallic/satin kinda fabric & the newer pants are more of a flat color.

Yup definitely bring back black cleats. I hate white on white. Purple cleats look alright

Faulk photo is a game in Tiger Stadium at night; I remember those lights having a yellowish hue, which made our field look greener, and enhanced our colors.
In a harsh white light, we look almost canary yellow and blue... with the warmer yellowish lights we look gold and rich purple.
*long ago, I had a red car, which I had trouble finding one night at the downtown Goudchaux store. They had the yellowish parking lot lights, and the car was more of a flat, burnt orange in that light.
You don't see stadium lights that tint anymore, it's always a hard white now.

Nike is the guilty party for color changes through the years.
