Where’s the idea that Brian Kelly is “un-likeable” come from?

Is this just Tiger Rant morons coming up with this because we haven’t won a title yet? These are probably the same people who want a coach who “looks like us and talks like us”. This stupid approach is one of the reasons why we have so much corruption and failure in Louisiana.
I for one enjoy having a coach with a professional approach to the media. He doesn’t volunteer too much information, but he also doesn’t “lecture” the media and talk down to them either. I much prefer his approach over the “clown” approach of Les Miles and the “caveman” approach of Ed Orgeron.
Give the man some time. He’s a word-class coach. It’s a rapidly-changing college football world right now. That has delayed the process of program building, but I think Kelly is evolving and pivoting to get us where we need to be because that’s what good coaches do.
Also, stop freaking out when he yells at players. That’s what football coaches do. It’s not unreasonable. It’s what the kids need. It seemed to help Chris Hilton get his mind right at the end of the season against OU.

The media hates him.
They thought it was absurd he would leave Notre Dame for LSU.

My problem with Kelly is he’s been very comfortable with his contract and buyout. Hopefully this season changed that. Given more urgency.

Little Nicky was a prick when he was here according to some coaches I know well. Now Nick has become likable to most as he chilled in his later years. But who cares? If you love your boss then he probably sucks as a boss but may be good as a friend.
CBK is a bit like that I think. Not a smiler, but we'll see how big of a winner he ultimately becomes.

Coach O and his persona was loved by the media
Contrast that to this cringe and his fake arse Southern accent

He’s a Yankee. They come off unlikeable no matter what at first.
Winning cures any “un-likeableness” out there though. Just frickin win

Media likability is overrated, just look at CKM.

The media hated him at ND too. Kelly has been getting shite on since he left Cincy before the Sugar Bowl.

From stupid people. Saban WS unlikeable. Head coaches. Like CEOs have to lead and face the public and face many challenges trying to build teams with young immature people… usually great athletes.

O has the mind of a child. He just wanted to be liked. The media just used him for easy access and content. He wasn’t smart enough to figure it out. They laughed at him, not with him.

I’m still pro-Kelly.
But his personality is still very “northeastern a-hole”
Sometimes his word choices are very harsh, and I’m not sure it’s intentional

I can tell that you don't spend much time outside of your LSU fan bubble. Fans pretty much everywhere have disliked Brian Kelly for a long time, way before he came to LSU. Personally I think the guy is overhated, but if you're questioning why people say that he is hated, you obviously haven't spent any time on other forums that aren't LSU-centric

Nick was way worse of an a-hole than CBK. Nick was the best coach ever. Brian Kelly is a damn good coach. Now , he is adapting better to the portal/NIL world.

Being affable and a head football coach at a major program don’t really go together. Even “players coaches” are still surly

Kelly isn't likeable. If he wins he will hear less criticism but he'd still be unlikeable. He can't help it but he's still unlikeable. Why do so many people say it? People aren't wrong.
