If LSU had opened with the likes of Kent State at home, and Oregon had done likewise, what would the rankings look like? Would we be no.1 or would it Oregon? Would we be at least no. 2?

How important do you think it is to LSU being in it's current position is the scheduling of a significant OOC game or games?

Our crazy schedule just made it impossible for people to not vote us number one. The whole country agrees that LSU is number one.

If it took playing Oregon, I'm glad we did.

Playing Oregon was integral to our success this year for several reasons.

So if we had not scheduled Oregon, I do believe this team would be good, just not this good.

Look at the conditioning benifits we gained.

Also the springboard we got off of that was unbelievable. I am heard miles say that practice today was really really good. The win over bama is another spring board

And like you said it was a top program that is still ranked ver high and might win their conference. Another springboard ala VAtech 2007

It is awesome that we scheduled Oregon and should all send thank you letters to both ADs

I think Oregon would be #1, Just because they were in the BCS championship just last Season. Last week before the LSU/ Alabama game I think LSU would have been #3 with Alabama sitting at #2. After beating Alabama, LSU would have move to #2.

I think Oregon has a lot to do with us being #1. All the other ranked teams we have played has dropped out of the ranking since LSU played them.

I think our chances of beating bama would have gone down had we not scheduled Oregon for the reasons I said in the above post

Not saying we wouldn't have though

3 are stil ranked and 1 just fell out (wvu). Alot of times you are responsible for a team not being ranked. State is a good example, we crushed their spirit.

Now, but it would have been the first week LSU would have been ranked number one, not that it matters.

Oregon and LSU would be 1 and 2, but the order would change depending on what teams they beat that week. Right now LSU would be #1 due to the Alabama victory. If Oregon beats Stanford, they go back on top. I really wish we could have played the last game of the year instead of the first game. (DeAnthony Thomas holds the ball a little tighter now) It might still happen if enough teams lose. (I'm not holding my breath)

Most Ducks just want you to win out so we can say the only team to beat us was the #1 team in the country. I doubt we make it to the NCG, but no other losses and a victory in the Rose Bowl might leave us at #2 when the final polls are listed. I am assuming you win the NCG of course.
