I think Slow meant Texas Stadium when he said Cowboy Stadium...I think Texas Stadium becomes a real possibility if Ike continues to project into the Gulf.

For the thousandth time, Louisiana is now at the far western edge of Ike's cone of probability. I don't know why you think it is certain, or even likely, to hit New Orleans or Baton Rouge.

I am no hurricane expert, but this one seems to show La. just inside the western edge of the cone:

I am not sure why you are perplexed.

Here is the description from the article:

"Currently, the outer limits of the cone stretch from Lake Pontchartrain to Florida."

That would put Louisiana inside the western edge of the cone.

No chance it will be played in Tiger Stadium if the path continues how it is going.

you realize that the storm will keep moving inland, right? That "cone" is showing the areas that the eye could reach... and the damage shall swirl from there around? So, south LA is kinda right in the middle of the possible areas for the eye to go...

I think we need to wonder if the LSU/AU game will be played the following week too, if this goes in the center of the cone showed here it's right through Alabama....and this shows LA on the Western edge

I don't think that is correct. Here is a better picture. You can see that Louisiana is inside the western edge of the range of projected eye paths. The current projected path goes anywhere from the west coast of the Florida peninsula to the coast of Louisiana. It's a huge range. That doesn't mean that the storm won't come to La., but it is far from certain that the storm will make landfall in LA.

cuba is the key...if it crosses north of cuba, history has shown we usually stand pretty good for those storms

Sooo, if the game is played in Texas, how will they handle the student ticket situation? I'm just curious...

Count on it and write it down, it "WILL NOT" be played anywhere in Texas!
