Working at my uncles restaurant in Bastrop, LA. Me and mom were listening to the game on a radio in the front by the register and when Morris launched it I remember so clearly telling my mom to "hang on cause Hawthorne makes every pop up hit seem like a homer" and then proceeding to scream like a 6 year little girl and jump around the tables yelling LSU WON HOLY shite THEY WON!!! while everyone eating out front and all the people working in the back of the place ran out and started getting into the celebration too!!
I agree with the previous poster who said this may have been the most exciting sporting event I've ever seen or listened to period. I was really pumped up about the Saints winning the SB and the INT by Porter was pretty insane but I don't think anything will ever touch that HR by Morris - considering the situation and how bleak it looked and just the way the game had gone back and forth. Plus the fact that they mentioned Warren hadn't hit a homer all year - AMAZING JUST SIMPLY AMAZING!!!!

Listening on the radio while I worked at Oil and Gas Rentals in Amelia.
Super pissed that I had to work, but I was a struggling student at that time and $$$ was a priority.

i was at my house in BR under the speakers and watching the TV on the wall. my wife came in the room just previous to his hit and watched it with me and we heard "way back there way back there - HOMERUN" and we jumped up and down hugging and I shouted "WE JUST WON THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP" as I watched Morris round the bases and Miami's 3rd baseman prostrate on the grass.
It was freaking GLORIOUS!!!!

Our little league baseball season had just ended and we had a pool party at some place off of Coursey (I think it was a BREC park). They had one little TV and I remember all the kids going off to swim after we went down big then going nuts when we came back and the Tigers were coming back. Will never forget that.

I was at a wedding in H-town and completely missed the last 3 innings. I knew LSU was in trouble but figured I would catch the highlights on TV after the wedding. I was more nervous than the bride at the wedding. The reception was at a hotel and about half-way through I stumbled out into the lobby and saw they were showing highlights of the game at the bar. After seeing the HR the reception afterwards was awesome! I was dancing on the clouds and it wasn't even my wedding. Great question and even better memory!

At my apartment in Denver, Colorado...couldn't get much LSU news out west at the time, so I was enjoying the game pretty much alone and missing home...laying on the couch watching the tigers making a good showing of it, but really with no hope at all of victory...
then out came Morris, from my home town and the strangest feeling came over me...within a span of about 10 seconds, I went from totally depressed to flat out fired up and standing in front of the tv...when the pitch came down the pipe, I heard the ping of aluminum bat and knew it was gone....I went totally apeshit....since really no one else around was watching the game, I was the only one yelling and raised such a ruckus that some of my neighbors came over to check on me...
that memory will be one that I will enjoy for the rest of my life.....it will be tough to surpass that one....

In a condo in Pensacola with some college friends.
Could have/should have been in Omaha with my Dad watching the game. He had tickets from Skip since he had fixed Warren's hand a few months before.

At the LSU Atlanta Alumni viewing ... I think it was called Tony's American Grill on Holcombe Bridge Road.
Wide screen TV... Morris was larger than life (well almost) and looked me straight in the eye... told him to knock the cover off the ball and the rest is history.

Working at cypress cove marina. I remember turning to yell and the daughter of a very rich customer grabing me and kissing me.

My newlywed wife was having a baby shower or some bs at our house, so I was relegated to the master bedroom. I watched the whole game in a rocking chair in my underwear.
When the ball went over, I came screaming out of my room in my boxers, scooped a bottle of champagne off the table, and ran down the street, spraying champagne and chugging it down.
Sweet

We were staying at the Boca Resort that weekend for my wife's birthday. I wasn't too happy about having to listen on the radio eventhough we had a beachfront cabana. In hindsight it just made it that more memorable...especially with all the Canes fans around.

On the Mound pitching a little league game. They actually took a break in the 3rd inning so the umpire could watch the 9th inning of the game. Our game meant shite after that.

Listening in my car because I was too nervous to watch. Ran into the house after the homer to jump and scream with with wife and daughter. Forgot my car was running. It ran for hours before I realized.

At the Country Corner on Choctaw. We were renovating the kitchen and watching on TV. I ran around the parking lot and put the news up on the marquee sign.
