in London, England. We watched the taped game on VHS Tuesday night Jan 5.

Don't know how we managed not to find out the results all through Tuesday. Luckily this was all pre-iphone days and it was easy to avoid the results of the game - since internet wasn't as all over the place as it is now.

When JV tore that first run all that pent up energy was released.

At the time - it was just surreal to see LSU remain constant in the top 5 and ultimately get to the top. 2019 probably topped the feeling, but 2003 holds a special place.

3rd row of 500 section in the corner of the end zone above the ABC stage. At the end of the game, my dumbass threw a half full plastic beer bottle off the upper deck at someone on the stage that I'm SURE had wronged me at some point. I was immediately and rightfully chastised by 10-15 people around me.

Walked into the bathroom at the half and the OU fans were standing in line while half the LSU fans were walking out of the line and whizzing in the old round trough sinks in the middle of the room.

It was 85 plus degrees in the concourse up there. The floor back then was that rubberized type surface. It had this thin layer of sweat all over it. Walking back to my seat, a random drunk 20 something year old OU fan accidentally bumped into a random 40 something year old LSU fan. They made eye contact and immediately started fighting. After two missed haymakers they were both rolling around on that nasty arse wet floor of the concourse.

Leaving after the game, we walked down the ramp with Early Doucet and family. He was wearing his St Martinville letterman's jacket. He signed with us a month later.

Good Times.

Edit: Four years later, I was on the 15 row in lower level end zone in the BCS game against Ohio State. Not 30 feet away from us, Doucet scored the first touchdown of the second half after a long arse drive to pretty much ice the game. Both tremendous events, but entirely different emotionally.

I was in the Dome with my daughter.
It was an exciting night to witness the first title since 1958.
It became a nail biter at the end because the D was gassed.

We were at one of the theaters off Canal. It was pretty bad arse to watch a game there. Some people had floor tables but me and about 10 friends were in the theater seating and it was nuts in there.

I was watching the game in our home in Fort Lauderdale with my 11-year old son, who has since graduated from LSU, is living in Baton Rouge and got to watch last year's NC game at the Superdome in person.
