Anthony's in West Point is fantastic.

I play golf at Old Waverly once a year and always make the trip to Anthony's.

If you want a burger and some beer Bulldog Burger could possibly have the best burger in the state and that isn’t an exaggeration. Look up their menu

This isnt the late 90s and early 2000s. Starkville has a lot of places to eat and drink a beer at that are nice and fun to go to.

I like shitting on Starkville as much as the next guy, but this is true.
I was there a few weeks ago. Had plenty of nice little restaurants/bars, and actually looked somewhat like a college town.
Last time i was there before that was in 2002, and it was a shithole.

Is Oby’s Cajun Restaurant not stil there? It was my favorite for 20+ years of meetings several times a year at MSU. Good po-boys, muffs, drafts, etc. BTW ....numerous new motels built in Starkville during that time. Check out Oby’s a few blocks from campus.

Bop’s for some good frozen Custard if you’re into picking up some dessert

Mugshots is a good chain store (started in Hattiesburg if I’m not mistaken).

There’s been some great recommendations above though. I’d personally favor some of the Columbus restaurants like Hanks and Huck’s but that’s the food I enjoy. Haven’t been to Huck’s in a while but they did have some great crawfish and gator at one point.

Chow wasn't bad at all in Columbus the few days I was there. One place even had good seafood that wasn't fried catfish and raw oysters

I'd take my chances with a Taco Bell.
