Did you just bring up Lady Tigers BBall? You mean we still have one? Have literally not a heard a thing about them since they hired the new coach

750K for non revenue producing sport that is not even ranked in the top 25 and has not justified that pay rate since she has been here.

9-8 in year 4, nice win and the win over Vandy was good too...if they can keep winning great but the facts are
9-8 in year 4 of NC
RPI 80-90 depending on which service
this was thier first win over a top 50 RPI team in last 7...1-7 last 8 games
last year was the first sub .500 sec record in 17 years
we are 3-2 in sec so far and not likley to make ncaa's for 2nd time in 20 years
NC is still NC, arrogant, at times lazy and mostly disliked in the AD building for these reasons...if she wins big who cares, shes not..and has yet to..in yr 4
Now, credit is due for the solid win, but when they finish below .500 in sec this year again...AND next and miss ncaa's both years, where will you be..
if Im worng Ill be right here saying I was wrong
and in any case, as always I will support the team and go to most home games and keep my season tickets
but NC is IMHO taking the program to new lows in many ways..most importantly on the court..UALR, 3 of 4 losses to Tulane, etc
one win is one win
I knew you wouldn't let us down.
The team wins, you post one positive thing about it, and then the rest of your entire post is negative. Classic.

lsualum....I care! 75% of the posts dont care and make fun of womens sports, tell me 10 + things about the program in past 2.5 years
2 sweet 16's..VERY positive
2 NCAA's- good, but expected
won at UT, always a good thing....
do you have 7 more to offset what I said..oh and I can add
off court issues with players and a male coach harrasing youn women at a bar (GREAT for recruiting), below .500 in sec, terrible (right?) recruiting)...still have not hired for vacant assistant coach...

Everything you posted is news to me. So they are generally bad, but you want the people that care to be ok with them being bad because of one game? In a 30 or so game season?
Dang.
Dang.

If they were 30-0 and in the final four I would still have a very hard time caring.

The coach should get a little credit for taking what she does have and making it work against a very good team who had not lost at home.
NC has gotten the players she said she needs to go in the direction of the Kentucky ladies. Full court press and run. They are doing that surprisingly well. Caldwell in my opinion stills needs a few more like Ballard and Moncrief who can play. I am sort of a tweener with Caldwwell. I want her to succeed but she needs to recruit better and work to become more fundamentally sound. That was a very good win last night and the girls showed a lot of poise in the game although I thought they lost it a couple times. Being ready from the start of the season would help in my opinion of her. They are 9-8 and unless they become a overnight sensation then we can hope that they spoil a few seasons on the way out.

Last night was a very good win. NC deserves credit for having this team playing much better lately. She does a good job of molding and developing players very well. Now there is no doubt she is a excellent XO's coach. She knows what she is doing. She believes in teams who are aggressive and up in your face defensively, she wants to force turnovers, and dominate the board.
That being said, this is her fourth year and she deserves a lot of blame. In her time here the only decent players she has brought in have been Ballard, Moncrief, (I guess boykin?) Baker was athletic and had talent, but her off court issues were a problem. The "tank" was an absolute joke of a scholarship offer. She was no project... she was just a big body. This past class we brought in Deemer and Amichia. Deemer has a lot of upside, I do think she can be a very solid player for us in Caldwell's uptempo offense. Amichia has a lot of work to do.
I think everyone can agree Caldwell has failed on the recruiting aspect. We are struggling very badly. Being at UCLA, California had a lot of talent. Louisiana seems to not been producing as much talent like it has had in other years. That being said, her next hire is absolutely critical. She needs to hire someone who has connections and is a very good recruiter. Caldwell has been successful whenever she has had the talent. She is a players coach and brings the most out of her team.
I do not know who else we are targeting this recruiting class, hopefully some good JUCO prospects. I think we have a lot of upside if Caldwell can start bringing in top 15 or 20 classes.
If we have a very poor season next season and fail to bring in a decent or good recruiting class, then she needs to go.
If she can turn things around on the recruiting trail then I am all for her staying. I like Caldwell and I want her to be successful. Hopefully a good run sec play and some changes in the offseason, we can have a good year next year.

We have women's basketball?

Caldwell had to discipline Ballard. Had she played the entire year our record would be much better. I like the change to a faster pressing type of team. We just do not have a really good center to be a stopper at the rim. We will make a run and get into the tournament. Caldwell has done very well given the mess left behind by Pokey and the old fellow.

I thought that was a huge win last night. Congrats...I see improvement in the team during the past month. I just wish Moo U was still undefeated when we beat them last night -- I've dealt with that Moo U coach when he was an asst at eaTme and can't stand him. If his kids weren't starting on the varsity their freshman year in high school, he was in the coaches' office all the time complaining. He walked around like he thought he was better than everyone. He's a good coach, but a jerk. Good win last night Lady Tigers.
