I bet you cashed in the 3 drink cards that day in Qatar after the Arkansas game. That was a tough loss to stomach, until West Virginia shite the bed.

... I think I was drinking those 16 oz Heineken cans ... I found all the people who didn't drink ... and had them get the beers and then bring to me near the seating in front of the big screen. So, I think I had about 9 stockpiled.

My tolerance was low-low at that point ... so, I had a nice buzz on....shite, not like I had anything else to do the next day except sleep.

But ... funny thing is ... that damn game ended up lasting until about 5 AM local ... I was the only one still watching when it ended ... all decked out in my LSU stuff ... oh well, it's a memory.

Good thing Pitt dusted WVU.

P.S. Considering the bullshite that was/is the Army's "General Order 1" ... I am still PISSED that I had to pay for those damn beers...and the price was pretty much the same as in the U.S.

Couldn't catch a damn break.

Butte Mt.. Downtown sports bar which was a converted bank from the copper rush days. I had one TV on LSU vs USL (ULL) in 2009. I got drunk so I abandoned the rental car and walked 3 miles to the hotel.

Woke up hung over with shin splints

An old fire lookout at 5,042 feet. 3G service, plenty of booze, , and amazing camp food.

I was up at Kabul Int'l Airport as an liaison officer to IJC for the ACCE-A.

I've been there but it's been a while. The only time I was ever up in Kabul was on my first deployment in '03, long before I started flying. I hate acronyms, lol. What is the IJC and ACCE-A? Just curious.

Watched the 2000 Peach Bowl from a bar in Singapore.

Tommy Banks with two touchdown catches. I think it was Saban's first bowl win at LSU.

IJC is the ISAF (International Security Assistance Force) Joint Command. The ACCE-A was the Air Component Coordination Element-Afghanistan. Just as I was leaving it was re-organized to be the 9th Air Expeditionary Task Force-Afghanistan or 9 AETF-A.

Damn acronyms

I'm with you. Especially when they have to stretch to make the acronym. For example, the B-52 has a program called CONECT which is the acronym for COmbat NEtworking Communication Technology. So they had to pick and chose which words they used just the first letter and which words they used the first two letters. In the words of one of my British friends..."Balls!"

On the LSU sideline during the Bluegrass Miracle. Nov 10th, 2002. Flew back on the team plane. Rushed to the hospital to witness the birth of my daughter. She was a month premature. What a day!!

First, hats off to the soldiers and sailors, many, many thanks!

Listened to the LSU-USC game (was that '79) while living in CA. I just lucked out and got it on the radio on Armed Services Radio. The whole game both announcers could not stop saying how loud the crowd was and how their ears would never be the same!

2000 SECCG-I was in Boston and a friend and I walked all over downtown Boston looking for a bar with the game. No luck, so we went back to our hotel, the Marriott downtown and asked if they had a bar where we could watch the game. The guy says, hell yeah, and the LSU fans all come here to watch games!
We walk in and there are 50 LSU fans drinking, carrying on, raising hell and about to watch the game on a gigantic screen. Had a hell of time, drank way to much and made 50 new best friends.

I also sat alone in the lobby of a Best Western in Greenwood MS and watched the 10-9 LSU-Auburn game. What a burn. Up there for kids soccer and took my leave to watch the game. it was the only place with a TV that would let me watch it.
I am still waiting to see that rule called again. (climbing on a team mate to block a kick)
