Did he improve or did he show up with a good approach? Development or talent?

The fact that there’s no coaching of the nuances of hitting speaks volumes. Kids like Alex still shine but don’t reach their full potential. Not every kid is Alex. Coaching matters.
Most college & mlb coaches do not yet understand the launch angle phenomenon. The majority of these players seeing spikes in power are learning from independent entities and minor league specialty coaches.

1. How old was he when he was at LSU?
2. How has body changed since his LSU days?
3. Did he use a wooden or aluminum bat at LSU?
4. Do you ever get tired of making a fool of yourself?

Hard to argue with someone so articulate and knowledgeable. Good post
Instead of just being a internet punk, educate yourself with looking up Belle's numbers at LSU.
And digest the fact about Duplantis just posted.

Oh yeah tons better
Where did he go in the MLB draft?
2nd
And to be fair. It was a Vandy SS at #1
But maybe that’s just because we didn’t coach power.
So again.
It’s absolutely fricking moronic to just pretend that this came out of no where.
The Astros didn’t pick a contact hitter 2nd overall with no idea.

Since you ignored my question, I’ll ask it again.
Did Antoine show up with a professional approach or did he get developed to that level offensively by Paul’s staff?

Bregman was #1 on the astros draft board, ahead of Swanson

He also looks a lot bigger now than he did then.

What do you think?
Now answer my question, how many homers did Joey Belle hit at LSU?
Easy google search punk...

Oh I know the answer. I’m asking you to answer the question. Did Antoine show up with a professional approach to hitting or was that taught to him by Paul’s staff?
I don’t know off top my head how many homers Joey hit, but I know he was a power hitter here. Nobody was surprised to see him hit for power in the show.

exactly what I was saying. but the experts on this board name call when someone doesn't agree with their dribble. doesn't matter, I know what I watched for 3 years while he was here. there were others better at that time.

Antoine showed up that way but got coached up on power.
Stevenson and Kramer must have been coached up.

He has said that he was coached to keep the ball on the ground at LSU. Even before he gained mass he was hitting for far more power with the stros than with LSU

Alex Bregman is one of the 10 best hitters in LSU history and the best SS in program history & you are going to sit here and pretend he underachieved lol

Who else would have taught him?

I wouldn’t worry about it. The evidence tells the story. Also, look at that same team. Andrew and Jacoby both came into their own offensively only after discarding what Sanchez and Paul were “coaching” them to do. Andrew changed his mechanics at the urging of his summer league hitting coach and Jacoby went back to his approach pre LSU. There’s more, but it’s pointless arguing with the members of the coaches committee

I would assume he got a bit stronger, probably changed his swing path (pro game preaches elevating the ball more than college) plus the current MLB ball flies. For reference, Dansby Swanson only hit 18 homers at Vandy over 3 years and he has 17 so far this year. His college trajectory was a bit different than Bergman’s though, in that he hit zero as a freshman and 15 as a junior.

Antoine came out of high school with an advanced approach. He was highly regarded by scouts as a kid who could handle the bat.
Spoke to 4 scouts in summer of 2015 who said he’d be the best player in LSUs recruiting class that year.
