Dear Raz,
Stfu. Yeah high this is the scoreboard calling...did you read me tonight? A-hole. U are really going to comment on two quarterbacks that not only won the game, but won it convincingly. Yeah it wasn't spectacular but they got the job done. Where do people like you come from?

Against probably the worst team in freaking I-A.
I think the main complaint people have is not the level of play, but the seemingly regression of it rather than the hoped for improvement after playing Appy state, a far better team than than North Texas.

Against LSU, Vizza to Fitzgerald > Edwards to anybody. For two guys you never heard of they sure put up some numbers against us.
Anyway, it didn't matter who we were playing the question is can Hatch hold down the fort until Lee grows a pair. Hatch is no Elway but I ain't giving up yet he's got 5 big mofos in front of him plus Crowton & Scott behind him.

"Lee & Hatch are going to be fine... we're going to be fine!" people at now?
You people suck. Hatch ran one series in his entire college football life and Lee NONE prior to this month. They are both coming along and gained a huge amount of experience the last 2 games. Good lord. I realize Auburn is this Saturday but its not LSU's fault the Troy game was cancelled. They look decent considering those above things. What the hell did you expect coming out of 2 games??

Folks...stop and think of what these guys have been thru.....
two weeks without a game
probably living all or part w/out electricity
Gustav
uncertainty
family/friends worries and concerns....
...and some of you are bitching because they did not look crisp ?
....neither would you,
use common sense, a lot has happened since APP ST.
you need to put some reality into the level of expectancy.....
for the team and the quarterbacks.....
their first real game was 2 weeks ago and then they had to wait two more weeks

I'll answer that. It's not that they expected much, it's that they just love to bitch. I think a lot of times, we have a bunch of women on the rag that post on here. Once they start bitching, it starts to reach a crescendo with more and more bitching. Miserable people.

LSU with hatch looks like a team that can beat auburn and georgia, and be in a dog fight with florida.
what is wrong with that.
get over the fact that we dont have the best qb in the sec.

Biggest understatement of the year. Anybody that doesn't believe we'll be playing USC in Miami is out of their mind. I don't care if T-bob is at QB, this is the most talented LSU team that I have ever seen in my life. At every spot on the field, I see nothing but primetime players. Our QBs have the easiest job in the country (not to mention, they're actually pretty talented themselves).
The only question mark on this team is the co-defensive coordinators. If that setup works out, go ahead and mark your calendars for a matchup with USC in Miami, because there's no one in the SEC that even comes close to matching our across the board strengths. Florida is close, but Tebow will never win a championship as Florida's starting QB. I could go into all the details as to why that is, but analyze their offense and use of Tebow for about 10 minutes and you can figure it out on your own fairly easily.
ETA: If Beckwith injury is serious, ouch. If we had a weakness, it was at linebacker.

Have you watched Auburn's offense? Perhaps you would prefer their QB?

What I saw last night was an LSU coaching staff that was very deliberate in working on the passing game, putting the QBs in situations that required them to make certain passes. Last night was not about maximizing the score or calling the best plays for LSU vs UNT - it was a scrimmage where LSU got some work in on things they wanted to improve.
Think again if you're expecting similar playcalling against Auburn. If CS runs wild, you'll see him get the ball 20+ times not 7. You'll see the parts of the playbook Hatch/Lee handle well, not the parts they struggle with that LSU emphasized last night.
Last night didn't change my opinion about LSU's QBs - they are ok. Not great, maybe not all that good, but not bad either.
I did come away from last night with a great deal of respect for Les Miles in how he works on improving the team against a clearly overmatched foe, rather than trying to just run up the score. Same thing he did in the second half against Appy State.

So? What games do we use to improve during the break between the bowl and the end of the regular season? Practice wasn't really interrupted, missing one, maybe 2 days.

They were probably the first in BR to get power restored, after an oppressing 9 hours without it.

How many of them come from East Texas?
As a for-instance, are you claiming that Hatch threw that horrific pass in part because of the storm hitting Houston when he was born in Utah and went to HS in Nevada?
Sounds more like you are just providing knee jerk excuses with little to no basis than anything. "Oh that interception he did for a pick six wasn't his fault, he dog died the prior day."

thankfully, they aren't the team. they were both running plays last night that won't be run against Auburn. Plus they will get better with experience, they won't become "great", but they don't need to be. We still have plenty of variety in the offense without them having to be difference-makers.
Posted on 9/14/08 at 11:16 am to Volvagia
nobody has mentioned in this thread that we have probably only run a very small portion of the playbook. we may not have even seen the plays that hatch or lee run most successfully in practice. lets wait until after we play a real team and open the playbook up a bit before we jump to any conclusions.

This is the other reason why I am not really concerned.
The fact that we beat two very different level opponents to about the same score suggests holding back.
And the fact of how much faster we scored on the better team supports this too.
