I feel like this is just such a dishonest argument. This happened mostly in 2022 when Jayden wasn’t nearly the player he became in 2023 or the player he is now. I’ll admit I was part of the fan base that was often frustrated with Jayden in 2022 because our offense was inconsistent and he seemed very reluctant and hesitant to throw the ball down the field. But then in 2023 Jayden turned into one of the best players in college football history. It is possible to have been frustrated with Jayden in 2022 and then amazed by him in 2023. But so many people won’t let go of this fake narrative and keep arguing and acting like there were a ton of people still hating on Jayden in 2023 and it just isn’t reality.
This is 100% true. It’s a very disingenuous argument that those idiots make. In 2022 it was perfectly reasonable to debate whether Jayden or Nuss should be the starter. In 2023, Jayden was 10 times the player he was in 2022, and no one was questioning his greatness anymore after the first few games of 2023. It became abundantly clear that Jayden was a stud.
There’s nothing wrong with debating the starting quarterback before one of them separates himself. It doesn’t mean you’re an idiot.

Half the board wanted him to throw the ball to open WRs instead of just running. Of course, he started doing that last year and is 10x the QB he was when people were complaining.
Exactly. Interestingly he proved the criticism to be correct when he did this but most people lack the ability to actually assess the situation and only look at it on the surface level. They just go “ohhhh hE cRItiCIzed JD He RetARdEd.” They are clowns that don’t have the intellectual capacity to assess anything with any sort of depth or further analysis

Topic of the thread isn’t about Jayden at LSU.

Yup. Burrow is my favorite LSU player of all time. But in 2018 I never would’ve thought he’d be who he was in 2019 and never would’ve thought he could be the number one overall pick. That doesn’t mean I hate Burrow or am an idiot.

The moment the light bulb went off for Daniels was sometime during the Grambling game (after the FSU loss).
Since then he has been straight fire.

I thought Joe could be really good after 2018 but could never imagine the season he ended up having.
Jayden I really believed was 1 step away from being a video game player.
