Man, some people in this thread must be fricking exhausted. Goalposts are heavy, but these motherfrickers insist on moving them.

You know we have exit velocity stats, right? Not just max numbers but how often those players reach those numbers.

ETA: And Reid slugged 0.208 last year FWIW.

Why do you post on here if all you want to do is criticize LSU athletes and coaches? Is your life THAT miserable?

exit velocity is not a "power number".

I understand exit velocity. I also understand that Slaughter has yet to produce any consistent power numbers.

im not championing for Reid to play over him. I merely argued with you that Reid wasn't worthless. Slaughter should continue to play. Reid has a role on this team. It's not my fault you don't understand someone that gets on base at a 40% clip is useful .

Useful how exactly? If he’s not going to start because others can field and (potentially) hit for more power and he isn’t valuable as a pinch runner because he’s slow and he was horrible as a pinch hitter when asked to fill that role last year, then why are there people arguing for him to play so much?

That’s my point. My beef isn’t with you in general because you aren’t clamoring for him to play over slaughter when slaughter hasn’t done anything worthy of being benched given that Smith is out. I’m in the camp that Smith needs to be at 3B when he’s ready to return if Hal continues to improve.

I remember us having this convo before last year. You thought Reid was basically a lock to start the year in the field because of his SEC stats. Which we’ve gone over already. No need to rehash.

again, he has gotten on base at a .40% clip over a 200 AB sample size in his career. That is near an elite level. You score runs when you get on base. When you score runs you win games. It's really not that hard to comprehend.

Y'all want to keep talking about advanced metrics, and it begins and ends with OBP. The most important thing a batter can do is not get out. Period.

And i never thought Reid was a lock to start last year. Thought he may have started the year in the lineup, that is it.

Pointing out facts. Batting .161 is not getting it done. Reid should be playing more you snowflake
