I believe it was against Auburn in 2001.

I am not criticizing our special teams, I just really want to know.

Eta: read too fast before replying... I cited a Bama failed attempt, not an LSU attempt

Didn't Bama have to attempt an onside kick in 2019?

If I remember correctly, Bama was trailing by 2 scores, made a TD with 1-2 minutes left, then attempted the onside kick, but LSU recovered and ran out the clock.

I think Troy

Last time we recovered one, I believe, was against Kentucky in 2014 but it wasn't intentional. We squib kicked the ball at the end of the half, and Kentucky couldn't field it.

Sorry, I should have specified “Attempted and Recovered.” That’s my fault.

The bowl game vs Georgia Tech in the late 2000s is the last one I can remember.

Ahh, ok. As soon as I posted, I reread the OP and thought I misread, then edited my post... but it's always nice to remember the finish to the 2019 game regardless.

Didn't we go onside vs Bama and recover it in 2011? Might have been Oregon? I can't remember. I swear we recovered an onside kick in 2011

Everyone, for your own sanity, exit the video after the onside kick is recovered.

I think Verne and our entire fanbase screamed the same thing at the same time.

That game was infuriating and marked the first time I wanted Les to be fired.

I was hoping in some of the games last year that we would attempt more. The other team was going to score no matter what, so just try to get the ball back.

good teams don't need onside kicks. And Les was more of a fake fg guy.
