But I'll be damned if LSU fans should just fall back on the program never being on that level. I thought that all changed in 2003, but I guess not.

On what planet are you in "reality" ? You honestly think we have problems with the football program that require some major overhaul? Amazing.

This. It's disgusting.

I sit in section 419 and sat in front of three assholes that were just BASHING everyone the whole. "Mett f'ing sucks". "Our WRs suck and can't catch shite." And the constantly they would erupt through the night because time and time again Mett would deliver a spot on throw on third down to an open WR who made a good catch. Then we would run up the middle. "Goddamnit why are we running up the middle, we should be running to the edges." Then we would run to the edges with Ware and it was "goddamnit why aren't we running up the middle its been working all night." Complete douchebags. So many of the fans in this fanbase are fricking assholes.

It's not just LSU fanbase though. Try having a conversation with somebody who is passionate about politics and tell him you're voting for a candidate different from him. You get the same thing.

It's a humanity thing and not necessarily an LSU fan thing. People do that with everything.

You don't see it at Bama right now because they're winning. But you let Saban leave and I'll pop the popcorn for us.

I'm not a supported of Miles, but I will say that this team looked the most prepared on Saturday than they have all year. This coaching staff did it's job and did it well.

Things happen in college football just like what went down in the last 1:34 every week some where. It happens.

You sir need your keyboard taken from you. Not on the same level? We had LSU beat, physically and mentally. If it hadn't been for the worst timing to bring shite out of his hat, we would be back in the running for a NC.

For you and your comment...

I think Michigan thought they could offer much less to get him. It is hard to walk away from $4 million.

Did I say that?

My comment was directed at reading somebody typing out the words that (paraphrasing) "we're LSU, should not expect to be on Bama's level, etc. etc." That's what I don't agree with. That was the company line for a long time around here.

Miles, the coaches etc came in with a younger team and much less experienced QB. They got them coached up in time for the Bama game which tells in the stats. They made adjustments at halftime and dominated that half. You can fault Les if you want to for being aggressive but I don't We played to win, we did not play not to lose until the final drive, when we went into prevent. Other than last year's NC game i cant recall a game in which I am more disappointed. But our team showed up. Despite all the attrition, distractions etc we showed the nation who could hang with Bama. One, and that is LSU.

when we start losing 3-4 games regularly instead of being in the hunt for SEC championships and NCs on a yearly basis.....then i'll admit there's a problem

This.

nitpicking over play calls is not valid criticism. A fake FG on 4th and 12 is a bad call. They ran over 80 plays, how many good calls were there? Did T-Bob never hold or have a false start? Did Randle never drop a pass, run a bad route?

I've heard people lament the fact we didn't get Spurrier to replace Saban. He built Florida into a pwoer house. He is no doubt a great coach. How many NC's did he win? How many undefeated season's did he have? His team was also destroyed in a NC game, yet that never hurt his rep, why? Depsite having what most considered the 2nd best team in the nation in 2001 he lost 2 games and didn't even make the SEC CG, instead watching a team they beat 44-15 win the SEC title.

LSU will be favored in our remaining games including what ever bowl we go to most likely. If we do win out, that would be a 3 year run of 11-2, 13-1, 11-2. What exactly is the problem?

LSU played their asses off and we definitely are on the same talent level as Bama is. The coaching staff put together a terrific game plan and it was very well executed.

But,

Miles, the coaches etc came in with a younger team

We are definitely not a younger team.

Yea, because Sabans 4-3 record over us is quite dominant

This is the bigger truth. Unfortunately, I let the smaller truth get to me Saturday night and was just furious with some of the calls (primarily the fake FG and the decision to try the long FG). We have a tremendous program going right now - best in school history - and Miles and his staff are A+ at recruiting and running the program and usually do an outstanding job of preparing the team during the week. Unfortunately, Miles has established that he is more prone to poor in-game decisions that most other top coaches. That is too bad, but I had to remind myself on the drive back home not to throw the baby out with bath water. It is still a great time to be a Tiger fan, and no one is more responsible for that than the very man I was cussing at half time, Les Miles. We could do much, much worse, and the future is so bright. Heck, the present is pretty dang bright.

Be honest. You never have liked Miles and never will. Some of you want be satisfied until Miles' career ends like Jim Pittman's did at TCU.

I haven't been a fan of Miles' coaching since Tennessee 2005...I'm not bashing the guy or screaming for him to be fired, I am just not a fan of him as a coach. Is that so horrible?

There have been times on this site when even the most iron clad Miles supporters have threw their hands up and had no explanation. Chicken(the great leader) once started a thread asking for fundraising ideas to buy Miles out, why don't you bash him?

So Reuben Randle and T-Bob make up all former player's opinions? Got it.

Wonder how Claiborne, Brockers, PP7, etc. feel about him?

You think this is a new thing with former players? It's more prominent now because of Twitter but there have been several players over the years say say something through facebook and then delete it 20 minutes later.

Point of this thread is, when somebody has criticism on here they get asked if they've ever played or coached D-I football...when somebody who has played or coached D-I football says something there is nothing else to resort to except name calling

Has he or do you just notice his bad calls because you are an LSU fan and watch all our games with an emotional investment? I think his mistakes get magnified more to you because it's our team.

One of the BR shows had a USCe reporter on before the the LSU-USCe game and talking about Spurrier and talked about how sometimes he gets to cute, tries to throw more when he should run. It was very similar to the way a lot of our fans/media talk about Miles. All coaches make mistakes, bad calls etc. You have to look at the big picture. It hurts to lose a game like that Saturday, I get that, but if we finish 11-2, we will probably be ranked in the top 5. We will have an expirienced offense coming back. Lots of talent on D as always another great recruiting class in 2013 (2014 should be unreal) and start next year in the top 5 again. LSU is an elite program and will remain that way for the foreseeable future. A couple of questionable calls in a tough loss does not change that.

so people are stupid because they are content with mediocrity and we are just supposed to assume our role as second to Bama when we are the only major football program in the state and consistently produce more NFL talent than Alabama? Hmmm, typical south Louisiana mentality. You see the difference in coaching, when Bama had the ball last they knew they would score. Our coaches on the other hand had absolutely no clue what to do. Everyone in the stadium knew we would get sacked on the last play just like right before half time. We looked like Pop Warner ball.

When players who are actually successful in the NFL start speaking out against Miles I'll listen. PP21, Mo, and Ridley haven't said anything negative, which people conveniently leave out of this thread. The only players who have are the same ones who had their effort questioned while at LSU or who aren't on an NFL team.

There is nothing mediocre about winning 80% of the time and who is assuming a role as 2nd to anyone? We lost, it sucks, guess what we beat them the 2 privious games. No one is conseeding anything.

Great, you think we can lure their coach back here for next season?

BTW the way, did you watch the game last Nov? How about 2010? Yeah they whipped us on 1/9, they also needed a lot of help to get into that game because they lost last Nov when their infallible coach keep trying FG's beyond his kicker's range and called for a WR pass deep in LSU territory that was pick off late in a tight game.
