3 years later we are #1.

How unthinkable is that??

Some will say he still hasn’t won any hardware, reached the CFP, or beaten Bama.. but it looks like 1 (and maybe 2 or 3) of those will be happening soon. And it looks like we’re here to stay.

This feels like a dream.

No one can deny he has greatly exceeded expectations. Anyone who says otherwise is just being stubborn. He’s getting results that fans wanted to pay other couches double for.

He was definitely the correct hire. Piss on any CEO haters that may still exist.

Also, the two coaches people wanted and were saying to pay them whatever it takes are now coaching 2 unranked teams. O was the right hire.

Well, hindsight is 20/20. He definitely wasn't the correct hire at the time, but has definitely become the correct hire considering how Herman and Fisher are doing.

I would have bet money that Ed Orgeron would never a #1 ranked team. I’m glad I didn’t but even more happy just to be wrong

This is exactly why fans should've STFU when the 'interim' title was removed after the 2016 season.

Doesn’t matter. He’s coasting on Sabans recruits. Is that how this works?

He is absolutely doing the right things. He definitely fixed the offensive issues.

I was not thrilled when he was hired but I was never on the doom and gloom train. I didn’t think he would tank LSU into an irrelevant program. My concern with his hire was that we would end up with more of the same ales Miles type production. I figured he would keep us in the 8 to 10 wins per season range. I was wrong. He has absolutely improved this team and I commend him for doing so. Offense is better. We are killing it in recruiting. The future looks good for LSU.

Don’t act like people didn’t have reason to be concerned about the hire. Orgeron didn’t exactly set the world on fire at his last head coaching gig. Thankfully he learned from his mistakes.

Honestly, I wasnt A fan of the hire but I felt like this was possible.

I strongly Doubted it after the Canada debacle and hiring Ensminger and a 70 year NFL WR coach to run a college spread offense

But I am always open to having my mind changes and the Brady Hire was a big game changer for me.

I find the whole scenario rather surreal. I remember the anger, anguish, angst and gnashing of teeth from this board when the interim status was removed from O, compounded by ill-timed losses to Florida, Miss. State, Troy and Notre Dame. And the renting of garments when Jimbo was named head coach of the Aggys.

So Tom Herman, Jimbo, Mullen, Kiffin, Sark, et.al. never became head coach for the Tigers. And in spite of the labor pains produced, it has proved to be a blessing.in.disguise.

I never said it is not o.k. to have concerns, but deal with them like an adult. There was a lot of overreacting and undo melting after he was made coach. It is far more productive to reserve judgement until Orgeron has had his opportunity prove himself. If he fails, then the melting and belly aching is warranted. If he succeeds then it's a bunch of wasted whining and moaning.

CEO was the best available hire at the time for coaches that were available. Jimbo did not seem interested unless we payed him an insane amount and I honestly don’t blame him because the Alleva factor may have played a role. CEO was a risky hire at the time, still. He didn’t have much of a track record of success other than doing a good job as interim for a partial season at USC.

I was ok with the hire but disappointed with how it all happened. We should not have kept Les on after the last game of 2015. Despite that, I was cautiously optimistic about CEO. The Cajun in me wanted him to succeed. I’ll say he met expectations in 2017, exceeded in 2018, and has far exceeded in 2019. I’m absolutely thrilled at how he’s adapted and taken this team to a whole different level.

Here’s to CEO and bringing LSU back to a force to be reckoned with, but this time, it’s the offense.
