His contract was extended to 2019. You predicting somebody is gonna make his azz quit?

Some successful coaches that'll still have some rubber left by then.
Shaw, 40
Mullen, 40
Dykes, 42
Holgorsen, 41
Franklin, 40
Doeren, 40

And Les is going to retire that soon why....?

People here love to throw out Les only coaching 3 or 4 more seasons like it's a fact.

He's not going anywhere anytime soon. Saban is 2 years older.

Meyer in his late 40s had to bow out of the SEC because of stress related issues.

It all depends on the person.

Personally i think he'll stay. That said The Extension is great job security. The only thing certain in college football is nothing is certain.

By that time, Saban should be bottoming out in Cleveland. Give him another shot in BR!

I think fightingtigers is probably correct. Both Les and Nick are getting long in the tooth. They're both still at the top of thir game, and both guys stay in good shape, so they might have a few more good years left, but their energy levels are dropping - that's just biology.

Head coach is a very difficult high energy position. Look at the great coaches who tried to hang on as "executive HC" types. Bowden coached until his late 70's but he petered out at about 70. Beamer is 66 and way off his game. Mack Brown is 61 and obviously out of juice. Miles seems like more of the Bowden type. I bet he outlasts Saban by quite a bit.

Keep an eye on Kingsbury at Taco Tech. If he has a decent run over the next 4 years or so, he'll be a big name out there.

Be careful what you wish for. I know you and a lot of other really cool dudes think anyone could win at LSU, and any great coach would love to come here. But if you paid attention to the real world it doesn't always work that way. The success rate of coaches following a coach that has won a NC is not good. In the last 30 years, only 3 coaches that followed a coach that won a NC, won one themselves: Jimmy Johnson, Dennis Erickson and Les Miles.

At the rate Les is going, he is going to pass 3 to 5 years. All he needs imo is a top offensive coordinator.

Les can't retire. He says "I've got kids to put thru college". That will take more than 5 years.
