this is not a good comparison since saban walked into a steaming pile of shite while miles walked into a gold mine.

Complete bullshite. This is the biggest lie used by sabanslobbers to try and undermine CLM. Only your fellow sabanslobbers believe it. Why do you even bother trying to spread it. It only serves to prove even more what complete idiots you all are. Do the world a favor, all of you, next time you go to Talladega, go lay in the middle of the track during a race.

SEC winning percentage for both is 70%

While the stat you posted is pretty much true, the strength of SEC during the Nick yrs. was much less than the strength of the SEC during the Miles yrs. As has been mentioned, Nick won the west with 3 L's. These days and almost the whole of the Miles time here, you lose more than 2 and most times more than 1 game in the west and you are done.

The coach before Saban had a 33-24 record and had Louisiana talent staying home. The coaches before that coach had a combined six year record of 25-41 and Louisiana high school talent going out of state by the car load.

Saban inherited a program with a lot of talent. To argue otherwise is retarded.

Lou tepper destroyed denardo's career .But the great recruits that denardo left behind made Sabin's career and any body saying different is ignorant or a liar !

It can be argued DiNardo's loyalty to Tepper destroyed his own career, but I agree. The cupboard wasn't left bare for Saban, just as the cupboard wasn't left bare for Les.

All three coaches greatly influenced the success of LSU football.

Unfortunately, there isn't much competition if he accomplishes that. Saban wasn't here long enough to be listed as the greatest and we don't have a Joe Pa, Bowden, Bear, etc. to use as a barometer for Les. Charlie Mac sure isn't on those guys level. Les will easily be the best coach at LSU ever...despite all of his flaws.

The cupboard was a lot fuller when Miles got here, and Saban inherited a team with a 3-8 record, regardless of talent.

And last season is probably the most talented LSU team ever to finish the season unranked. That is amazing, considering the players they had.
