Good to see that after a long layoff on this site, threads are still so damned thought provoking...or just provoking in this case.

Great post, sorry for being late to the party!

He absolutely will be the greatest coach in LSU history. The question is where do we place a statue of him? The statue will be a typical Les look, clapping. I say the front entrance to Tiger Stadium!

ONE NC was all he needed while he was here... It spoiled and ruined a great fanbase... Just like you..... BTW SU is no more of a so-called powerhouse since Miles has ben here...........

wrong

Miles tenure turned lsu into a poweehouse. 7 years of finishing top 15. 5 years off top 5 finishes. Its like some of you don't live in reality.

The prize is much bigger and the consequences more enduring. Who has lost one and come back to win another? Tressel? Stoops? Miles? It would seem that losing one leads more to future failure than success.

You have no idea what youre talking about. Losing to UAB is far worse than finishing #2 in the country. I hate our dumbass fan base.

The topic is LSU and not Alabama. The best at LSU is Les. The best at Alabama was the Bear.

Wrong on both

Nobody outside of LA and ALA knows that Saban lost a game to UAB. They will recall the 1-9 game if they are CFB fans. Broadway flops are costlier than one in Peoria.

The UAB loss was as bad as it gets and certainly is the low of the lows since 2000. Nick is a great college coach. One would have to be sports mentally challenged to deny that fact. Thing is, the Nick of today is not the same Nick who coached here in the early 2000's and the SEC he had to deal with is not the same SEC Miles is dealing with. You would have to be equally sports mentally challenged to deny that fact.

As much as I enjoyed Nick's effort here, he didn't put LSU on his shoulders and walk us though gator infested waters on his own. He had lots of help. GN laid a foundation that Nick was able to build on. A new president understand the importance of a solid football program for all of LSU. The TAF stepped it up and gave Nick and the new president just bout anything they wanted.

As to the powerhouse stuff, I don't think 1 NC to go along with Nicks other 4 yrs. here made LSU a national powerhouse. I do think when you go 56-10 with 2 NCs in the 5 yr. period from 03 to 07 you can start talking nation powerhouse.

There isnt a program in the entire country that would choose to lose to UAB over losing in the national title game. Get a clue.

Pretty much everyone who pays attention knows that App. St. beat Michigan in '07 and Georgia Southern beat Florida in '13.

People may remember LSU's loss to Alabama more readily than their loss to UAB, but only because the former was 3 years ago and the latter was 14.

All this UAB talk is just stupid... Just using it to try and help yourself on hating Saban..... OK questions.....

Did YOU cheer for LSU when Saban was the coach??? Did he NOT bring us the 1st NC in 45 years????? Did he NOT help get even better stuff around Campus for the student athlete when he was here???? Did he NOT recruit great talent for Miles to keep going with???? Did he NOT take a 2-9 team from the year before and take us to a bowl game the 1st year he was ere??? Did he not show that LSU can compete with the big boys of the SEC in 2000??? Did he NOT guide LSU to its 1st win over Bama at home since 1969???? Did he NOT win the SEC in his 2nd year here and have one of the best offenses in LSU history in 2001?????

AGAIN did YOU cheer for LSU while Saban was coaching here??? At the time weren't YOU glad he was our coach at the time?????

He is gone now and coaches the enemy... See ya Nick. Hope we kick your arse real soon.............

Actually, the ones who constantly complain about Les are probably the same ones that constantly complained about Saban when he was here.

But they like to act like everyone was more than happy while nick was here.

It's like kids with a new toy. They beg for it the hottest new one but as soon as they get it, they become bored & start begging for the next hot toy on the market. The back up QB & the next LSU coach will always be the favorite by a portion of the fanbase. It will NEVER change.

8-4, 10-3, 8-5, 13-1, and 9-4 is NOT a power house program. It's a good program that had one great year.

LOL
Considering it included the first championship in 50 years, it's better than Miles's last 5 years here. And for the 1000th time, LSU went 9-3 in 2004, not 9-4.
It's so funny to watch you guys pretend that Saban's first few years here should be judged the same way Miles's time here is judged. As if you just don't remember where the program was at that time. Here's a hint: we were not winners.

Nobody cares that LSU lost to UAB in 2000. We won ONE SEC game in 1999. Again, we were not much of a program at the time. Amazing that y'all are talking about it in the same breath as that embarrassment in the title game.

This is all seems like a desperate attempt to ignore what's been going on under Miles lately and pretend that we are still what we were in 2006-2007.

No whats funny is poster like you that act like Saban didnt walk into a program stacked with future nfl talent.lsu has just has back to back 10 win season in 96&97
These are the NFL PLAYERS Saban walked into in 2000. They are some of the best ever, at lsu, at their position.

ROHAN DAVEY
JOSH REED
Labrandon toefield
Jarvis Green
Howard Green
Norman lejuene
BRADIE JAMES
TREV FAULK
Ryan Clark
Devery Henderson
CHAD LAVALAIS
Kendrick Allen
Stephen Peterman
Robert Royal
Dominik Davis

All of these future nfl players were there before Saban. People that act like Saban walked into this shite program have no idea what they ate talking about.

Thats not even counting the massive amount of talent on the 2001 lsu team.
Marcus Spears
Michael Clayton
Randall Gay
Matt Mauck
Ben Wilkerson
Corey Webster
And he lost 3 games
